Re: Montana @ Idaho State
That was a crazy game. I am starting to not be a fan of our offense. We don't know how to throw a 5-7 yard pass to our recievers. Simis must not know how to throw the ball because he sure didn't do much of it. I know there is "taking what the defense gives you" but damn. I will have to go back and look at the stats but watching it from the stands it felt like all we did was run, run, run, throw an incompletion about 40 yard down the field. Our recievers certainly can't make a play if they never touch the ball. I guess we have to give Stitt a pass but i'd rather give him a pass while being creative in his first year. The offense I saw today was as vanilla as high school teams run.

None of the fans in the stands had a clue what happened. The refs mic didn't work and we never saw a flag on the field. The officiating was suspicious for sure, very indecisive the whole day. Thank god for replay.Vidav wrote:Would like to see a replay of that kick return. I didnt see a hold at all.

Re: Montana @ Idaho State
Which has been the complaint of the "Gus" backers. There were actually quite a few slant passes today, so that was refreshing....and I don't think I saw a single bubble screen...so THAT was wonderful. Simis's best pass of the day was a flat out drop by Jones....GrizFanStuckInUtah wrote:That was a crazy game. I am starting to not be a fan of our offense. First Half Passes in order (by # of yards): 7, 5, 5, 10, 14, -, 16, -, 3, 4, -, -
Second Half Passes: 5, -, 7, 4, -, -, 7, -, -, 2, -, INT, 7, -, 0, 21, -, -, 12, 2, 5, 18, -, 3, 7, -
OT Passes: 5
We ran 99 plays, 39 of which were passes. He completed 23 of those, and only 6 of those were for longer than 10 yards. Can't tell from the stats how many of the incompletions were longer plays....but I like to see them stretch the field ocassionally...keeps the defense honest.
ISU had the 2nd worst run defense in the league....they were suceptible to the run and we successfully ran against them.

Looks down to me. This game showed that the refs were playing for UM.This is why I think the talk of several of the schools leaving the BSC is not just talk.

Go find a decent view of Simis's fumble. He was down to. That shit works both ways.

Every week they get a little closer. While difficult to watch, this wasn't nearly as ugly as a couple of other wins this year...Grizalltheway wrote:The problem is they aren't going to do shit if they get in, unless they draw San Diego.Mvemjsunpx wrote:
It's not over. The Griz are pretty much a lock at 7-4 if they can get there, I think.
We have to hope like crazy that Gustafson is ready for next week.

Initially yes, but Simis really struggled to adjust when ISU started focusing on the read option. That's Simis's problem: he tends to panic and/or be predictable when his first read isn't there.AZGrizFan wrote:ISU had the 2nd worst run defense in the league....they were suceptible to the run and we successfully ran against them.

Re: Montana @ Idaho State
UM player was down picked the ball up threw it forward over his head. Watch the replay from your local sports station.
1. He was down
2. Illegal forward pass cant throw the ball forward!!!!!!
Should have been 1st down ISU ball at the 25.
I know excepting the truth takes moral character and UM does not have much of that, RAPE, theft, the truth........ I hope ISU and the other 7 leave the conference. BSC would have less than 8 teams would be be defunct and UM would have to try and buy refs in another conference.

And sure, leave the conference. Go re-form the Great West, or drop your schollies and join the Pioneer. Brilliant plan either way.

Lets say he WAS down. How in the WORLD is that ISU ball? And I'm going to use better judgment and NOT say what I'd like to say regarding your last paragraph. Except this: I hope ISU leaves the conference too. And take UND, NAU, SUU, Weber & UNC with you.Sapper wrote:UM player was down picked the ball up threw it forward over his head. This is between you and Sapper/ISU. Leave the rest of the Big Sky out of your gripe session.
Re: Montana @ Idaho State
I don't think he was down but if he had been ruled down, Sapper was right as it would of been ISU ball first down at the 25. As it would of been the start of the 2nd OT and ISU would of been on offense first. fwiwVidav wrote:Seriously, Sapper, how does ISU get the ball after that?AZGrizFan wrote:

Huh? Griz got the ball first in the first OT, both teams failed to score, so the Griz would have gotten the ball to start the second OT.mtgrizzly wrote:I don't think he was down but if he had been ruled down, Sapper was right as it would of been ISU ball first down at the 25.
