I-A Game of the Week - Week 13
Re: I-A Game of the Week - Week 13
This is a difficult choice. I'd love to see Ohio State LOSE...AGAIN. Perhaps Notre Dame can pull out a win against those hippy liberals at Stanford. I'd love to see a repeat of Clemson/ND.

Sooner State Fratricide FTW. BCS playoff implications galore.

Re: I-A Game of the Week - Week 13
The only one that really directly impacts the playoffs is Notre Dame/Stanford. Notre Dame wins and they're in, lose and they're out. Oklahoma won't get in over them because of the Texas loss and not being able to make up ground on ND's closer than necessary win over BC because Oklahoma was doing the same thing with a limp TCU team without Boykin and the top WR. So if Notre Dame wins it all gets pretty easy barring upset losses in the title games - ND at no better than #3, Bama (could be #1 or #2), Clemson (either #1 or #2), and the winner of the Big 10 title game (MSU or Iowa). Not sure if they would play with the rankings to avoid a regular season rematch between Clemson and ND. Maybe give ND the harder game (i.e. 'Bama) and have Clemson play the Big 10 champ.

I'm not sure it's that cut and dried. Oklahoma's loss is worse than Notre Dame's loss but they will also have better wins (Baylor-7, Ok State-11 & TCU-19 vs. Stanford-9, Navy-15 & Temple-25).GannonFan wrote:The only one that really directly impacts the playoffs is Notre Dame/Stanford. Yeah. ND is getting screwed by the insularity of the Big 12, and from the Big 12 being left out last year. No idea how good any of those teams are (Ok, Ok St, Baylor, or TCU) since they didn't play tough non-conference teams. Unlike last year when there were two unknown good teams, now they have four so if Oklahoma wins they'll get in over Notre Dame. Notre Dame still needs to beat Stanford anyway, and that's going to be very tough to do.UNI88 wrote:I'm not sure it's that cut and dried. Of course, I'm a little too harsh on the Big 12. Most conferences tend to be pretty insular (i.e. see Iowa) and don't tend to play big games out of conference. Thankfully why we do have a playoff at the FBS level.GannonFan wrote:Yeah. ND is getting screwed by the insularity of the Big 12, and from the Big 12 being left out last year. Could be Notre Dame's high water mark - Okie St scores to go up 10-7 just as Fuller catches a bomb and Notre Dame takes the lead against Stanford. Both offenses look productive in the Notre Dame game.
