I keep hearing of this plan to stock pile picks and suck and then bust onto the scene.

When does that happen. How many top 5-10 picks are on the roster right now? You either need to get better a coaching or just admit to wanting to suck year after year after year just to you can say "We have a plan to draft high draft picks so we can keep sucking to get more high draft picks"

The Sixers are a perfect example of why I wouldn't mind seeing a rotational draft order in the NBA.

10 top 20 draft picks since 07
11 since 04
13 first round draft picks since 2006

You Sixer fans might want to realize your being fucking played.

It's not just high picks, it's the difference maker picks. And really, you're quoting a lot of stuff from a long time ago. Hinkie's first draft was the 2013 draft when he tabbed Noels. Embiid in 2014, and then Okafor in 2015. Hey, if we're not winning more than we're losing in 2017 then sure, it's been a bust, but I'm willing to see it through until then. It's easy to miss with first round draft picks lower in the first round, happens all the time, but it's much easier to hit when you're picking first or second or so. Sure, Embiid was a risk and I think everyone knew it. But that 2014 draft, which was supposed to be deep, has been anything but. After Wiggins, there's a bunch of nothing. Some of it's been injury related (Parker, Embiid, Exum, etc) but it's hard to find real stars in that draft. Heck, one of the best players in that draft might be the guy the Sixers are still waiting to come over from Europe in Saric. But like I said, we'll know by 2017 and really, the Sixers weren't going to be very good even if they didn't pursue this plan - we already saw what that looked like in the first decade of this century.

Timberwolves hanging in there, tied for 8th in the West. Still early, but the team is developing.

Philly ties the record for worst start in NBA history

Going back to last season they've now lost 28 straight - the longest losing streak in any of the 4 major professional sports all time

And Okafor was just picked up for doing 108 on the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Heard the same about Okafor, and Embiid/Elfrid Payton, and Michael Carter-Williams, and Evan Turner/Jrue Holiday, and Andre Iguodala

Maybe at some point the 76ers should realize what they are doing isn't working.

That's a bit extreme...

Huh? When did anyone really say that about MCW or Evan Turner or even Jrue Holiday? I'll give you Iggy, people were high on him. Seriously, Elfrid Payton? Did you just throw that name in there to see if anyone was paying attention? And Embiid is what he's always been, a risky pick hoping he'd be healthy from a draft that, outside of Wiggins, has been a disaster of a draft in terms of NBA production. Okafor's a stud, if Simmons rises to that level the Sixers should be so lucky. Again, the Sixers are in year 3 of this process, you make it seem like they've been trying to do this for the past decade - they've only recently tried to be bad, all those other years they were bad but not on purpose!

Timberwolves must have gotten all there was to get from that draft. Wiggins in a trade and Zach Lavine at #13, Adrien Payne in a Trade. Lavine won the slam dunk and is averaging 14.6 off the bench and some time starter.

Okay, I don't pay much attention to the NBA until the playoffs. But I looked at the standings today, and am amazed the San Antonio is still a major factor. I'd like to see Tim Duncan get his sixth championship.

Well, Tim Duncan isn't really a major factor any more, so there's that.

Did I say anything about him being a major factor?

One team all of FCS can get behind is Portland. Currently under the league minimum in terms of salary and sits in the 8th playoff spot in the West. Led by two alums of FCS schools, Damian Lillard of Weber State and C.J. McCollum of Lehigh. Good showing and can only get better.

One of the best slam dunk contest ever, was held this weekend, and a great 3pt competition. Lavine out dueled Gordon in the dunks. Splash brother out duels splash brother in the 3pt competition.

The Wolves have the core to build on but guys like Tayshaun Prince, Pek (who I wanted so badly to stay healthy), and Andre Miller need to go. Eating cap space, not able to contribute, etc...

The wolves need to drop a handful of guys and try to land guys who can contribute.

Rumor of Rubio being shopped leaves me torn. He is so good at passing and defense that I don't want to see him go, and he's only 24. However, he can't score. A PG that can't even get to 10-12 ppg isn't going to scare a defense into guarding him on the perimeter.

Get a PG to make Rubio the back up PG and get a center to go with KAT and allow Gorgui to be the back up center and you've got something.

I understand what Flip was going for with the way he built the roster this year, but he isn't around to coach it. Mitchell is...well...Thibodeau better be on the sideline for Minnesota next year

The Wolves do have a great young nucleus. Pek was good until he signed the big contract. I think Flip wanted Prince and Miller to tutor some of the younger players, not to take playing time from them. They need a coach that can use the players properly. Mitchel is a nice guy, but not the coach they need.
