The MSM here in Europe is treading very lightly on this.
Also- US companies like Google and Facebook will be cooperating with German authorities in prosecutions that would be unconstitutional in the US:

People getting arrested for posting pictures of the washed up, dead Syrian kid and saying, "We are celebrating!" [instead of "mourning"]?CID1990 wrote:The MSM here in Europe is treading very lightly on this.

Eff that...time to kick those German politicians to the curb and change those laws.
Hope that country splits in two again...the Libs have gone too far.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?
What if I have more personalities than that?

Why stop there? Let's return to the good old pre-Bismarck days of Saxony, Bavaria, Prussia, Baden-Wurttemberg, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha...Cluck U wrote:People getting arrested for posting pictures of the washed up, dead Syrian kid and saying, "We are celebrating!" Well, they come by their speech laws honestly... Ive always cut the Germans a little slack in my own mind, as I can't fault them for taking a "never again" approach.Cluck U wrote:People getting arrested for posting pictures of the washed up, dead Syrian kid and saying, "We are celebrating!" But I think they have failed over the years to take the real lessons from WWII, and one of those lessons is that hateful speech needs a receptive audience... otherwise it's just noise. The key to avoid incendiary speech from having an effect is to make sure there is no fertile ground for it to turn into popular opinion
I think their immigration policies are creating that fertile ground - and as usual, we have the benefit of seeing Europe's examples (immigration, domestic policy, etc) and still choosing to double down on their failures
