Martin O'Malley Runs for President

Post by dbackjon »

Former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley launched his presidential candidacy Saturday by stressing income inequality and other economic issues ahead of an uphill battle against Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

"The American Dream seems for so many of us to be hanging by a thread," O'Malley said in his official announcement, pledging to close "a growing gap of injustice in our country" if he becomes president.

The former Baltimore mayor, surrounded by campaign signs calling for "new leadership," also took a swipe at Clinton -- and at Republican Jeb Bush, a likely GOP candidate also looking to follow a family member into the White House.

Hopefully he serves Pina Coladas at his rallies.

What's he going to point to as an accomplishment? The parts of Baltimore that didn't sink into riot? This is like the Dems equivalent of Ben Carson on the GOP side - a candidate who has no shot of doing anything positive whatsoever. A collective "yawn" would be too much of an acknowledgement.

He had a sit down with Uncle Teddy and didn't enter the governor race back when Kathleen Kennedy Towsend lost to Erhlich.
I think he wants to be VP.

I may have to switch my registration to D so I can go caucus for him next year. i would love it if he could take down Hillary. He'd be an easy target in the general. I can see the rain tax and flush tax ads already.

Democratic presidential candidate Martin O’Malley apologized “like a disgusting, little, weak, pathetic baby” for his remark that “all lives matter,” Donald Trump said in an excerpt of a new interview aired Friday on Fox News.
In an interview with Jeanine Pirro for her program “Justice” set to air Saturday night, Trump said that the former Maryland governor did not need to say he was sorry.
“And then he apologized like a little baby, like a disgusting, little, weak, pathetic baby. And that’s the problem with our country,” Trump said, according to a clip aired on “Fox and Friends.”
O’Malley, in fact was “politically incorrect” with his apology, Trump remarked.
“How can you apologize when you say black lives matter — which is true — white lives matter, which is true — all lives [matter] — which is true. And then they get angry because you said white and all…we don’t want you to mention that. What’s he need to apologize for?” Trump asked.

I can't dissagree with him. Spot on!

He can only dream about that. They said on the Annapolis radio station this morning that the deadline for him to declare himself a candidate for Babs Mikulski's open Senate seat is tomorrow. The problem is that he is not so popular in MD statewide and Larry Hogan is proving to be such a popular Republican Governor in Maryland (yeah, hell did just freeze over) that statewide Dem candidates could be hurting a bit come November.

Yeah. He couldn't even get Hillary the Maryland vote. Baltimore City wouldn't come out to vote if he were on the ticket. PG and MoCo would blindly anyway. But he burned the BaltCity bridge.

Meh. Ehrlich was hugely popular too at first. O'Smelly really didn't deserve to beat him, his campaign was shit and his Governorship was the same.
