I recall hearing the same thing. They didn't want a Super Bowl L. Reminds people of a loss, a negative, etc.

I quit watching. Between all the over throws and the Jonathan up the middle for a 2 yard loss I couldnt take it any more.

I had some flashbacks to the McNabb Eagles watching that performance.

Not that but I am indeed happy to see a prick like Newton completely smothered like that. He richly deserves the way he's undoubtably feeling right now. No "dabbing" (it amazes me that they actually have a name for crap like that) tonight.

BTW, did you see the way after he fumbled that last time he wouldn't even dive in to try to get the ball? What a prima donna prick.

All other things aside I heard an interesting stat listening to the radio yesterday. A guy said that teams that went into the Super Bowl after finishing #1 in total defense were 12-2. Also said it was almost 13-1 as Seattle went into the Super Bowl #1 in total defense last year and kind of blew it at the end.

So anyway that means that teams that have gone into the Super Bowl after finishing #1 in total defense are now 13-2. Also, as you can see, it means they've GOTTEN to the Super Bowl at a very disproportionate frequency.

I missed the game. Did Newton get to do his endzone jive dance?

Carolina attempted to use the Arizona Cardinals playbook...worked about as well.

Saw the post game. At least they didn't give out the flat brimmer hats like you often see celebratory post game but rather nicely curved brims.

I saw that too. Game is on the line (likely was their last meaningful possession) and you don't go all out for a loose ball? :ohno:

Masterful performance by the Denver D. We literally saw a defense win a SB tonight. Denver didn't do shit on offense and North Crackalakey kept shooting themselves in the foot. As boring as the game was (and boy did the commercials fucking suck) at least it was close which gave a reason to keep watching.

It did seem like they caught whatever disease the Cardinals had.

Still… you ain't gonna win when your O-Line gets dominated that bad.

Wilson presser vs. Newton

Problem is...they're both black.
