I changed my mind on gay marriage based on conversations I've had on a football message board.

Saint Augustine said that in the 4th century. This has been a part of the Christian tradition longer than fundamentalism.

Cleetz, you're a fundamentalist atheist who argues against fundamentalist Christianity (hardly a difficult task).

Fundamentalist Christianity is a new concept and movement that came out of the Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution that tried to put religion within the realm of science. It led people like Isaac Newton to try to develop proofs of God's existence. It led Ussher to try to calculate the exact date that God created the Earth using the Bible. Etc.

Jelly,
How could I be an Atheist if I believe there might very well be a god..?
In fact I think God is probably the single most important idea in the whole of human history
The only Gods I'm prepared to dismiss are Bronze Age and Iron Age
The rest are up for serious discussion

You however, are an insufferable ankle biting mental chihuahua...
And of all the fish I was looking to snag you aren't exactly what I was looking for

I got Moby Dick (AZ) and a guppy (Jelly)
Neither, was I capable of landing, with the gear I brought on this expedition

It seems you've changed your mind, based on newer evidence. I once called AnalJelly an idiot and you were quick to defend his keen intellect.

When was the last time you set foot in a church for any reason? And did you respect your surroundings? :?

Now that is an excellent question Ivy...
Usually lawyers only ask questions you already know the answer to
(which also might be the case here)

1) At weddings - so every few years or so
2) Also

There's a Church in Capitol Hill Seattle neighborhood about 10 minutes from my place
Me and the girlfriend love that Church - it is truly wonderful
In the summertime it has a large telescope set up on the back property
We go there and look at Saturn (which is awesome) and other fun star stuff

What strikes me as funny as I can't think of a time any of us religious guys have tried to impose our religion on anyone here, but the non-religious guys do it all the time under the guise of saving people from religion. :suspicious:
