I am actually going to go through the trouble of transcribing what he said. There were two Question/Answer sessions involving Trump ont he issue of H1B visas. Here is #1:
Here is #2:Q: Mr. Trump, your critics say your campaign platform is inconsistent with how you run your businesses, noting that you've brought in foreign workers instead of hiring Americans and your companies manufacture clothing in China and Mexico. Why should voters trust that you will run the country differently from how you run your businesses?
Trump: Because nobody knows the system better than me. I know the H1B. I know the H2B. Nobody knows it better than me. I'm a businessman. These are laws. These are regulations. These are rules. We're allowed to do it. And frankly, because of the devaluations that other countries...their monetary devaluations...that other countries are constantly doing and brilliantly doing against us it's very very hard for our companies in this country in our country to compete. So I will take advantage of it. They're the laws. But I'm the one that knows how to change it. Nobody else on this dias knows how like I do. Believe me.
That is rambling nonsense. I mean really. I am astounded that you would say he provided some kind of cogent discussion on H1B visas. He sounded totally lost. Either that or he just isn't capable of expressing himself effectively when it comes to actually having to explain things.Q: Mr. Trump, I do want to come to you...will you also in your answer address how long you think that pause would be and what that pause would look like?
Trump: Well first of all I think and I know the H1B very well and it's something that I frankly use and I shouldn't be allowed to use we shouldn't have it. Very, very bad for workers. And second of all I think it's very important to say, well I'm a businessman and I have to do what I have to do and it's sitting there waiting for you but it's very bad it's very bad for business in terms of...a...it's very bad for our workers and it's unfair for our workers and we should end it. Very importantly the Disney workers endorsed me as you probably read and I got a full endorsement because they're the ones that said and they had a news conference and they said that he's the only one that's going to be able to fix it because it is a mess. I think for a period of a year to two years we have to look back and we have to see just to answer the second part of your question where we are where we stand what's going on. We have to take sort of a strong good hard look and come up with plans that work and we're rushing into things and we're just we're leading with the chin we're leading with people that don't know what they're doing in terms of our leadership. I would say a minimum of one year maybe two years.

The guy is correct...the system is being abused. Trump should know.
Look, the guy admits that he uses the system and that the system is abused. But, what business person would NOT use the system...it would put you at a disadvantage.
Lil' Cluck goes to a charter school...one rated as one of the best in the country. We save $15,000 in tuition. I am against charter schools...FIX THE DAMN EXISTING PUBLIC SCHOOLS instead of adding additional schools. But, in Delaware, that is a political bomb...so charters are expanding. But hey, Lil' Cluck is getting a great education for free, and we are putting that $15,000 away for his college tuition.
Like Trump, I'd be a fool to not use the current system. But, I think the current system is wasteful and wrong. If elected, I would fix the system. So, what is silly about that?
As far as the second question, he answers...2 years. But he also is flexible. Try something...if it needs tweaking, OK. To me, that is better than saying, "1.5 years...no flexibility. My system will work." Sure, people like you want to hear a neatly packaged and rehearsed direct answer with numbers and charts...but the world doesn't work that way.

So if he were president, and he comes into a situation/issue that he cannot fix should we expect him to keep playing the existing system even if it's broken and harms America? How does that mindset make America great again? Not a whole lot of hope and change regarding that approach. Why should voters trust that you will run the country differently from how you run your businesses?
And I like your example above and the idea of tweaking and existing issue and being flexible. Kinda flies in the face of all the "repeal Obamacare" conks out there.

Take a look at the actual question below (underlined) then look at the answer. Do you think he even answered the question. He was asked why voters should trust him when he has been doing the things he's been criticizing other businesses for doing. His answer is basically to claim he knows the H1B and H2B visa programs better than the other candidates because he takes advantage of them. Saying he knows the programs better than the other three guys who were on that stage is a pretty questionable assertion. And he throws in something about devaluations. Do you really think companies in the United States use the H1B visa program because other countries devalue their currencies?
The guy is clueless. This support for him is absolutely insane. I've heard Trump supporters on talk radio shows recently acting offended because they feel people called them stupid. Maybe they're not stupid in terms of IQ distribution. I know of a veterinarian who puts up Trump stuff and it's harder to get into vet school than it is to get into medical school. But, you know, if you do stupid things there's a good chance people are going to call you stupid. And supporting Donald Trump for President is doing a stupid thing.

Goes to show he's just a garden variety Republican.JohnStOnge wrote:This is the one of these campaign debates I've watched in many years. I think the last one I watched was G.W. Bush vs. Gore in the general election.
And now that I'm watching the Trump thing is even more frightening than I thought. He obviously has no clue. They ask him a question and he gives them incoherent gobbledygook. I mean seriously. If you are watching you have to know what I'm talking about. Other candidates are asked questions and give relatively concise, intelligent sounding answers. Trump is asked a question and he comes with this rambling nonsense that doesn't even answer the question.
What the HELL is wrong with people? I knew this guy is a buffoon. But he's even more of a buffoon than I realized. What the HELL are the people supporting him thinking?
