Nonsense, we have that choice - megalomania vs ideology - right now with Trump vs Cruz, and if I had to vote today between those two as my only choices I'd vote against Cruz in a heartbeat. Trump is a buffoon, Cruz is evil. There's a difference. Heck.
And Trump will have both sides fighting him tooth and nail on every little thing. Cruz will have the complete backing of the radical portion of the GOP, his insane policies are more likely to become law.

Also how ironic would it be to have a true outsider being able to potentially appoint up to four members to the Supreme Court.Image

I think since the nuclear option was triggered you could actually see both sides just try to wait out the other when it comes to SCOTUS. Heck, you could see a five judge panel for awhile depending on how spaced out the dying is.

He speaks namby-pamby psychobabble. GF starts with the Baader-Meinhof fallacy about Cruz: because the press fairly recently called Cruz "the most despised man in Washington," or the "evil" equivalent, and that concept now seems to pop up everywhere, it must be so. And then, in a more troubling exercise of cognitive dissonance, GF labels the psychotic Trump as a mere "buffoon" who, despite his lack of judgment, temperament and veracity, can somehow be shape-shifted into a model public servant who will make wise decisions and appoint splendidly moderate Supreme Court justices.

And don't even get me started on DSURocks. He's just a Markell Democrat in disguise.

Nonsense, I don't think he'll be shape-shifted into a model public servant, Donald's too consistent for that, he'll always be a buffoon no matter if he wins or not. :thumb:

How could you not like him - he's the spitting image of Larry David. I think I'm watching an SNL spoof or a Seinfeld episode everytime I see him. If he would turn around and start talking I swear he'd be George Steinbrenner. Someone's got to ask him about Jay Buhner and see what he does. Him and Trump are both that way - they are real life political caricatures of themselves.

It's their defense mechanism for this age of Tina Fey political satire. This way, no one can one up them with regards to their mannerisms and gibberish since they've gone all triple-dog-dare with their stuff already.

BTW I really don't think Trump is a Tea Party thing. I don't have a poll but I know a number of people who were big into the Tea Party movement back when it started and NONE of them like Trump. They're all horrified by him.

Not the best, but he believes in the Constitution. You know what that is, don't you? Trump has no clue about what that great document means. And if you support that bozo, you don't, either.

Ah yes. The "I believe more in the Constitution than you do" argument.

If that was the case, the Ron Paul should be the bellwether for that movement. And his son Rand would have gotten more traction this election cycle. Cruz believes only in the Constitution when its convienent and politically expedient for him. He's a wolf in sheeps clothing and the radical right is eating that shit up. If you want to be suckered into his delusions, by all means. I won't be. But what do I know, I'm a "Markell Democrat" all of a sudden, whatever the fuck that means. :coffee:

If I could've had any candidate I wanted this cycle it would've been Rand Paul. However, Cruz is clearly a strict constructionist. He is what he is and he doesn't hide anything at all. That's why he's so unpopular in the Senate. "Wolf in sheep's clothing" doesn't fit him at all. He's very up front and honest about where he stands. You can not like where he stands. But you can't say he isn't honest about it.

This is a guy who, going into the Iowa Caucuses, said he is against the ethanol subsidy and stuck by it. He's not hiding anything.

Give me three facts that support your contention that Cruz isn't a true Constitutional conservative. I think Cruz is an odd duck, and his "Sam I am" filibuster was a joke, but your man Trump has no claim to the Constitutional mantle. For a thinking person, if you're down to these two imperfect candidates, you have only one choice.
