You're talking about the general election.

We weren't and the chart wasn't either.

BDK was disputing the claim that Trump isn't attracting a plurality of Republicans. That's what the chart is showing and that's what was being discussed. BDK is clearly wrong (surprise, surprise).

The general election has nothing to do with it at all.

No I was disputing the claim that Trump was only getting in the 30s percent wise. Since March 15 he has been getting 40%.

Again that chart is as worthless comparison because again.
-Some of those contests were virtually uncontested.
-None of them, conk or donk, started out with as many candidates.
-None of them had 4 candidates a month AFTER Super Tues, and a month and a half after Iowa..

'll say this, if Trump is as good of a businessman as he claims to be...
That's questionable. I was just watching an interview of a woman named Maria Konnikova making the argument that he's a classic con man. One thing she said is that he has a very "checkered" business history. She said some analyses have shown that if he'd just invested what he inherited he'd have more money than he does now as a result of all his attempts at different businesses.

So I did a web search on the subject and found this:

http://www.moneytalksnews.com/why-youre ... ald-trump/
Trump Worth $10 Billion Less Than If He’d Simply Invested in Index Funds.
Another thing she said that I think is interesting is that people who are being conned have a very hard time believing they are being conned. She talked about con men being put on trial and having people who have been conned helping to pay their legal bills. Said no matter what you tell them to try to let them know they're being conned they just find a way to tune it out. Sounds very familiar.

The general election has nothing to do with it at all.
Might not have been your intent but there really is an association in those data such that the likelihood of winning the general election goes up as the percentage in the popular vote (presumably in primaries) goes up. Kind of interesting.

NPR had an story yesterday about how Trump promised and convinced the Atlantic City board that he'd never use junk bonds to build the Taj Mahal. They had excerpts of the transcripts and in tone and deliverance, it sounded eerily like today's speeches.

Anyways, while every other bidder said they'd have to use junk bonds, his reason was that the Trump name could get him low-interest bonds. And that he'd keep it on budget or even under.

Not only did he end up using junk bonds to fund the majority of the project, he went over budget by 300%. The Taj Mahal went bankrupt in a year.

Another interesting point in that story is this:
GROSS: Donald Trump owned two other casinos in Atlantic City that ran into financial trouble. One of them was the Castle - Trump's Castle. And there was a point when he owed a lot of money for the Castle, and he couldn't pay off the debts. So he got a loan from his father, Fred Trump, who founded the real estate empire that Donald Trump came to take over. So he got a loan from his father. And it's an odd kind of loan. And I'm going to ask you to describe how it worked.

O'HARROW: Sure. It really is a fascinating episode because let's remember that Donald Trump was a young man still when all of this was unfolding. And he was the son of a real estate tycoon in Greater New York area and in fact really got his start with help from his father, who underwrote a lot of loans. This loan in particular is singular. The Castle was facing the prospect that it could not pay lenders the high interest on the loans that were outstanding. Now, they knew it. But nobody else knew it. They head off the crisis. And because Donald Trump himself did not have enough money to pay the interest, he turned to his father. And the father sent a lawyer into the Castle and handed over a check for $3.3 million, according to the Casino Control Commission documents. And that was called front money, as though it was going to be used for gambling. And the lawyer walked out with an equivalent amount of $5,000 chips in a bag. The next day, they did the same thing and bought chips worth $150,000 and walked out with those. That money that was handed over for the chips was used in part to pay for the interest. And the casino recorded it as an outstanding gaming liability. But when state officials examined it later, they ruled that in fact it was a surreptitious loan and that it violated the state casino regulations. And the State Division of Gaming Enforcement fined the Castle $65,000 for participating. Donald Trump was never found culpable of any wrongdoing, and nor was his father, Fred.

GROSS: I guess I'm a little confused why they weren't found guilty of any wrongdoing, since the money - the way you described it - was from the father for the son - for Trump.

O'HARROW: That's right. It was the father giving the son's business - the Castle - this infusion of money. And that was used to pay the - you know, you're not the only one who is mystified. Armstrong - the Casino Control Commissioner - was very distressed that more wasn't done with it. But that's where it stands.
Just super shady stuff.

Again, I am registering shock that stuff that goes down in Atlantic City could possibly be not above board. I've always thought casinos were places of the highest virtue and represent all that is good in our country. :coffee:

Anonymous doesn't think Trump is good...
Earlier this week the hacker group Anonymous declared “total war” on GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, calling his behavior “deeply disturbing.”

On Thursday, Anonymous started to follow through on that promise, reportedly posting personal information about Trump online. Most of it was already public, like his birthday, his place of birth, and his legal counsel, but there were a few tidbits that had been private, namely his (alleged) social security number and the number to his cell phone, according to USA Today.
