Ha. Trump will buy the place tomorrow and cancel it.
Just wanted to let you know that this gem didn't go unnoticed. :thumb:

"Why try to protect sea mammals and not sting rays etc.."
"why do this - when that - already happens" etc. etc..

its one of the favorite pseudo scientific "Why am I the only adult in the room" arguments

the answer lies in the idea that why shouldn't humans seek to find themselves or understand themselves by how they treat animals... by starting with Intelligent Mammals etc.

The pseudo scientific "why this animal and not that animal"
is better asked - why not..?
Lets start there and look to improve as we go

Because we have to start somewhere
What is the end-point you have in mind, Chizz? Abolition of factory farming for red-meat animals? Abolition of use of animals strictly for entertainment purposes?

You realize pigs are arguably smarter than orcas and most outside the primate family? You going to give up pork to protest the overcrowded factory farms they live in?

I'm not opposed to standards for treatment of animals, but you don't get to apply different standards for different animals based on how awesome or majestic or fluffy and cute they are. Hardly anyone outside of PETA is going to complain about chimpanzees in captivity or being used for entertainment because they aren't considered "cool".

And where do you draw the line for what constitutes intelligent animals, anyways?
Oh I get the finer points Pwns...
But throwing the entire conversation out the window because Pigs might be smarter than Orcas..?
That is the "Why am I the only adult" perspective I mentioned previously

Societies must observe animal treatment as a whole
and also specifically - on a one by one basis
Because the old adage is still true: "A good judge of a society is how it treats its animals"

I am hesitant to put a stop to any conversation about animal cruelty
because Pigs are smarter than Orcas

Yes - I get it - we're inconsistent as hell when it comes to animals
but lets still have the conversation about how we improve animal care

I've seen the whole pig to plate process, from the shot in the head before dawn to the cutting and grinding and boiling in the afternoon. They really are smart animals and they make one helluva ruckus when you shoot one of their family. It's damn traumatic honestly.

But you forget about all that when the bacon's ready!

Not in Orca, she wasn't! She was a marine biologist, and very convincing! Unlike that asshole indian fuck who thought he knew what the whale was thinking.
