Apparently, Khrushchev had nothing to do with it.

Oh wait, you wanted to focus things on the religious guy...the guy who believed so much in the sanctity of marriage.

Carry on.

Well, Kennedy had a deep mistrust of the Federal Reserve, so there's that. Some have even speculated Kennedy might have tried to get rid of the Fed in a second term.

OHH!

NOW I get what you are asking (and apparently Clitsaurus does too)

What you mean is, "How do we defeat the idea of the BEARDED MAN IN THE SKY"

we don't defeat that.

We defeat the IDEA that killing large numbers of people in the name of that bearded dude is not profitable

It really isn't that hard... whole villages full of dead murder monkeys, dead murder monkey baby mamas, and dead murder monkey babies...

you asked how we defeat that idea- we don't. We defeat the ability of that idea to take tangible action.
Sure.

Would that be your course of action?

It is too late for Europe- but for the US it would not be that difficult. Despite what a lot of people believe, the vast majority of Muslims in the US are assimilated and peaceful.

Shut down immigration from areas known to support anti-American terrorists on a rolling basis. That includes countries like Saudi Arabia. In addition, issue no non-immigrant visas to nationals from those areas, period. Even heads of state. Make entry to the US for any reason predicated on the that country's tangible, verifiable cooperation in weeding out the snakes. Offer NO financial assistance to those countries for anti-terror ops- only the promise of travel and commerce.

For especially recalcitrant actors, bar US companies from doing business with those countries or any shell companies acting in their interests. We don't need to bring allies along on this.

In short, we isolate them- much in the way we did Iran. A lot of people think those sanctions were not successful because their metric was that the target country would play nice with us and maybe even become democratic and suddenly puppy dogs and rainbows. We don't need them to be our friends- we only need them to cooperate or be isolated from us.

This is all before we fire a single shot at anyone.

All the more reason to end it. This should be the only response to the Saudi King

I don't worry that much about American Muslins…yet. They have more education than any other religious group in America because we are picking and choosing which ones to take. On top of that, the federal government may not care one bit about regulating mass immigration of unskilled people from Mexico, but they follow immigration law to the letter with people getting PhDs in engineering and immunology.

The problems come with having no filter in bringing in people from places where too many people have a 7th century mentality that you can hack someone to pieces for insulting your religion.

This is something both the hardcore nativists and the multiculturalism enthusiasts don't seem to understand.

Don't be so sure. ISIS has already established communities/compounds/training camps in the Balkans.

-9/11 terrorists- mostly educated & ranged from middle class to wealthy backgrounds.

-Times Square attempted bomber, Faisal Shahzad- bachelors & MBA at the University of Bridgeport. He worked for two major companies as a financial analyst before quitting his jobs.

-Underwear bomber, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, son of a a wealthy Nigerian banker and businessman. Degree in mechanical engineering from the University College of London.

-Foot Hood terrorist Nidal_Hasan- bachelors degree and a medical degree

-Boston bombers were college educated.

-Chattanooga terrorist- electrical engineering degree from UTC

-San Bernadino terrorist- bachelor's degree

And thise are just from thr US attacks and a few of the numerous plots. Some examples from overseas:
-2007 Glasgow airport attack carried out by a doctor & engineer..

"...man behind the chilling masked figure on those ISIS beheading videos is Mohammed Emwazi. Emwazi was until recently a resident of posh West London, was born into a wealthy family, and had a college degree in the very employable field of computer programming...."
