The latest poll out of NY (Quinnipiac) now has Bernie trailing by 12. The four previous had him down 48, 21, 21,40.

A Marquette poll has him now leading by 4 in Wisconsin where Hillary has had leads as high as 53 (in the same poll) going back to last October. It's fun to watch her lead shrink.

I think he will win Wisconsin bigger than the current polling. Lot's of people there hate Scott Walker, and he is basically the polar opposite of that douche-bag.

I think he will win NY, but it'll be close.

When looking for reasons why Walker may have failed so miserably at creating jobs in Wisconsin, the obvious place to look would be his flagship job creation agency: The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). WEDC, which Walker chaired, gave out taxpayer-funded loans to hundreds of companies in the hopes of spurring growth. But the jobs Walker promised never materialized. Instead, in an epic display of mismanagement, WEDC lost track of millions of dollars in loans, gave awards to ineligible businesses, and has generally been a poor steward of taxpayers’ money.

In terms of job growth, Wisconsin has consistently trailed the national average. In fact, Wisconsin only saw 1.5 percent private-sector job growth in 2014. Unfortunately for Wisconsinites, while this is the best job creation number Walker has seen throughout his entire time in office, it lags far behind the national growth rate of 2.6 percent.

But none of this should come as a surprise. Instead of fulfilling his promise to create jobs, Walker has chosen to prioritize attacking public workers and teachers. All this did was create a culture of polarization that has divided his state to the core.

How big a failure have Walkernomics been? Just look next door at Democratic Gov. Mark Dayton’s Minnesota, which leads Wisconsin in almost every economic indicator.

In Minnesota, Dayton turned a $5 billion budget deficit into an over $1 billion budget surplus in just one term. By requiring the wealthiest earners to pay their fair share, Minnesota is now in a position to invest more resources into the state’s schools and infrastructure.

In Wisconsin, Walker was unable to take his state out of the red and faced a $2 billion budget deficit. Walker made the decision to cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires, while slashing education funding and refusing to make investments that would benefit middle class families and Wisconsin’s financial wellbeing.

I'm legit intrigued into how much of this $1 billion surplus will actually go towards those two things.

I'm sure a majority will find its way into social welfare and other pork barrel programs instead. :coffee:

Time for kalm's first lesson in the governmental budgeting process.

Latest Wisconsin budget numbers dispel left’s ‘deficit’ narrative
On Nov. 20, the state Department of Administration submitted the statutorily required report to the governor and Legislature on the 2015–17 condition of the general fund based on the administration’s revenue estimates and state agency budget request.

That report showed a net balance shortfall — after the consideration of the $65 million reserve the state budget must maintain by law — of $2.214 billion, according to Lang’s letter.

“Shortfall” is the operative term here, not “deficit.”

As they do every two years, the state’s agencies submit budget requests.

While Walker asked for fiscally conservative budget requests, the agencies came in with higher budget requests than existing spending plans — some much higher.

And that’s what created much of the shortfall — the number between the revenue projected to be coming in and the combined money the state departments would like to spend.

As one legislative aide put it Monday, departments always ask for more than they are going to get, like Chicago Bears legendary running back Walter Payton used to extend the football as far as he could when tackled. Payton knew officiating crew wasn’t going to give him another yard, but sometimes he’d get enough for a first down.
So the government agency wish list is short by $2.2B. :coffee:

I think I'll put a Veyron on my wish list. Maybe that will help me qualify for an Obama phone and food stamps.

Here's the hilarious part of Walkers budget
Which is indeed "in the black" over the next two years... if

and here's the big if
If the state generates an additional 17% revenue over the preceding 6 year period
or more interestingly
the state will need to create more revenue over the next 2 years
than at any point during Walkers entire tenure as Governor

So... yeah it's "In The black"

Tax cuts on top rates followed by increased spending and rate increases on the middle class equal increased receipts.

Reagan learned this in the 80's. You, Brownback, and Walker are still struggling with the notion.

And if they had chosen instead to compare Wisconsin to Donk-run Illinois they would have found that Wisconsin is a veritable Shangri-La of economic prosperity. I would be careful about using Wisconsin as an example of the failures of Conk policies because it's neighbor to the south is a much much much more glaring example of the failures of Donk policies.

Cheeseheads might be mostly blue but they have an independent and somewhat contrarian streak so I think Bernie will do better than expected.

Clinton lost again last night. Why? Probably because Wisconsin is devoid of a significant black population.

Clinton - 1,279
Sanders - 1,027

And his Super delegate count is starting to go up, by 1s and 2s.

Sanders has won the last 6 contests. And sets him up to have some momentum going in to Wyoming's caucus on Saturday and possibly into NY on the 19th.
