I know what you mean....I get the same feeling everytime I trip over a former midwestern union auto worker serving me fries in western NC.....and I hear the Wisonsinites have a problem with FIBs migrating north and straining the walleye population and their patience every summer....houndawg wrote:WTAG wrote:

You call them "Californians" now but back in the day we called them "easterners" and wished they would all go back home to new York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Montana, etc.......

Re: Wolves
Well, Grizza, you'd be proud. My buddy has a cattle ranch here in DL and his uncle called him and I late last night to tell us there was a pack of wolves tormenting the newborn calves. SO, we loaded up in his truck, me with my 7MM, him with his .300 Weatherby and we headed up the Cottonwood Creek drainage on his land. We spot lighted the pack and since he was driving I got a shot off. Dropped this son of a bitch from about 200 yards on the run. Didn't have a camera so this was taken with my phone. Weighed just shy of 150 lbs. Spoke to the game warden here in town today (he's a friend of my family) and he said to shoot the rest if we get a shot.

Seems a little over the top there Willie. I mean, they don't seem to be Robots, Zombies, or any combination of the two yet. I say give it 6 months.

Re: Wolves
The wolves could handle a normal hunting season just fine. Helicopters hunters and poison, not so much.

Re: Wolves
If you were a cattle rancher you'd understand. When calves are tormented like his were, they are literally scarred for life. The act differently, sometimes violently towards each other and humans. Seriously. They'll kick the shit out of you before you have time to realize your nutsack is now on your backside, all because they were traumatized as newborns. He had to put one down because one of the wolves broke it's hind leg dragging it around.wideright82 wrote: Seems a little over the top there Willie. Like I said. I like wolves as animals, but once they cross the line, they're just like any other varmint/predator to me. I have no problem shooting coyotes, so I sure as shit have no problem shooting a wolf either.
