So when TBH and I open our business, and we both start our "side project specialties" off that main business does that count as 2 other business ventures as well? If so, I truly am closer to you than you'd think

Just admit it. I'm a young you.

In other words...not trash TV. Hardly any TV, except science shows (no questions that differentiate between intelligent TV and the crap that passes for prime time or daytime talk shows. And, I only saw Star Wars in the theater.

Smoking? Agree with Gannonfan...who smokes these days? Actually, there is one car in the parking lot of my son's school...puffs of smoke always coming out...and three teenagers are there to pick up on 5th grader. Poor kid...has to sit next to the three idiots who smell like an ash tray. Fun.

Now, if I had taken the poll years ago, as in many years ago, a couple of those restaurants would have been checked. I did take a looooooooong bus trip once...when I was 18, to Notre Dame. Took several when I worked for a ski tour/travel company a loooooooooooooong time ago. That question did not have an expiration date...and that probably saved me from a worse score.

I'm sure if you added in Cigars and Pot you'd probably be sonewhere between 20-30% of adults. Obviously there would be some that smoke all 3, some 2 of 3. I imagine the majority who smoke would only do one of those 3. Myself I enjoy the occasional cigar..

45 for me. I'm a dichotomy. I grew up in a blue collar family with a union father who was trying to support six kids working in a petrochemical refinery. And I've worked in petrochemical refineries myself. Also worked as a laborer in a State park doing things like cleaning bathrooms and dumping garbage. Been a firefighter. Worked as an attendant in a juvenile detention center. Worked picking okra.

On the other hand, I am not a pop culture guy at all. I'm not likely at any given time to know what's going on on the pop culture front.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

One question I remember was if you made 33k in 2015 $$ for a yr that would be considered living near poverty. Yeah, for a family of 5-6. Back in 99' I only made about 20k/low 20s (about 28-30k) in today's $$, but I was mid 20s, renting, living in the Sheandoah Valley and while not saving much $$ I wasn't close to poor. Also 33k 2015 in rural area = not poor. In high cost of living NE or left coast big city that = close to poor. Also the question didn't give different amounts of $$ for different numbers of people in the household. I went ahead and answered yes to that very flawed question.

Grew up upper middle class. I also worked a summer in a factory while at JMU. Not active military but was Army National Guard.currently drive a pickup, my previous vehicle was a pickup, watch NASCAR, bought Budweiser twice in the last month (only because I went to 3 NASCAR races & its kind of a tradition of mine - also drink microbrew & German beer), among the list of chain restaurants have probably hit all of them at least once in the last year, maybe about 2 doz times total, maybe a couole of times a month. Haven't watched any of the listed movies. I watch a lot of TV bit none of those shows listed. Smoke the occasional cigar, live in a blue collar neighborhood, like rural areas & the outdoors..

Perhaps you should actually know these folks. Bernie all the way...actually even farther to the left than Bernie. They are OUT of it. Preaching, too (not religion...but their progressive ideas). I could go on, but they would blow through the questionnaire and score near zero...and still be more of a Progressive then nearly anyone on this planet.

But hey, at least folks know where they stand...errr...those who know them. At least I appreciate their honesty. :coffee:

rhetorical question.

16.8% who smoke...mostly dumb azz clowns from low income families. Yup...that holds true.

Still love seeing people open up their car doors and dump their ash trays at the stop light...or throw their cigarette out the widow. :dunce: What a bunch of Neanderthals.

I did buy an existing biz. But in an industry I knew nothing about. And I knew nothing about actually running a business at the time. 5 years later and still going and growing customers/revenue every year....that's gotta count for something, right?
Yes, I have a partner for biz #2. Again, got into an industry I knew nothing about. We funded the distillery 100% out of our own pockets. But we haven't had to put a penny of our own money back into the biz since the very first day we opened to the public (October 2014). That's gotta count for something too, right?

Not a penny actually.
I fibbed a bit earlier when I said we spent every last penny we had. My wife and I actually had about $25 to our name leftover in all of our checking/savings accounts when we bought the biz up in NY. And I my wife got laid off (we knew it was coming, we just didn't know when) the day after we signed the papers. Those were some fun times.
