NHL Playoffs

Not that many of you are watching the playoffs anymore...but last night's game between the Caps and Pens was awesome, but it also sucked. Sloppy game throughout, but lots of back and forth (imagine that, in HOCKEY!!!!) where both teams took turns dominating the game. Went to OT when Oshie scored his third goal of the game (that's called a hat trick, for all you newbies out there) on a wraparound that had to go to review. I didn't actually see the puck go over the the line, but it was ruled a goal on the ice and then I guess the review was inconclusive so it counted.

This is the only shot I found where it appears there might be some white between the goal line and the puck.

Looks pretty conclusive to me.

The still you posted was 100% conclusive that it WAS a goal. When they showed the first replay, I was pissed because it looked like the puck never got anywhere close to even touching the goalline. Couldn't imagine how the ref blew it that badly. Then the second replay shows nothing. Third, same. Finally they showed that one and it was 100% over the line and then some.

What sucks for Pittsburgh is the goalie made the save and then boogered it up trying to get over to that side to cover up.

2. The parallax view is only if the puck is off the ice. The puck last night was NOT off the ice.

I saw on the news that one of Oshie's neighbors put a Penguins poster on his front step overnight Wed that he saw yesterday morning when he left the house.

I doubt they do that again.

Murray came up big in the 3rd a number of times to keep the score 1-1 at the time. Otherwise, Caps could be up 2-0

First game Caps outplayed Pens and got the better of the action in the 3rd period of game 2, so not really.

Buddy of mine headed up today for game 3. He got tickets for $150 each, 8 rows behind the goal. Those would have been $250+ here. I need to move.

First game Caps outplayed Pens and got the better of the action in the 3rd period of game 2, so not really.

Not really. Pittsburgh out shot the Caps by 10, won more faceoffs, had more take aways, etc. Game 2 they just dominated the first two periods. The Caps played desperate in the 3rd, but desperation leads to sloppy play and Malkin stole Ovi's lunch which lead to the game winner.

Game 3 is playing out almost exactly like the 3rd period of game 2.

Oh, and Murray > Holtby.

I only saw the first two goals before I had to go to bed. Neither of those two goals were on Holtby. First was a double deflection. Second was a bounce off a Pens player's back. Hockey's a funny game like that.

But yeah, the Caps went apeshit crazy in the 3rd. The Pens pulled back way too much way too soon.
