Trump has already said his vp pick will be a DC insider who can navigate Congress for him

Makes sense, since the VP serves as President of the Senate and his voice to Congress.

Shit, I missed this thread. Delete the other one I started.

Rubio. No brainer.

Delivers Florida. Appeases the wetbacks.

It should be interesting because whoever accepts the invite has got to know that they will destroy their credibility for the long term if they accept. It's as George Will wrote:
They already know the only important thing about Trump’s choice: His running mate will be unqualified for high office because he or she will think Trump is qualified.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions ... story.html

Well said and absolutely true. The person who agrees to run with Trump will be making a fool of themselves for posterity.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth

No more than Fiorina already has, by running as a VP on a losing primary ticket.

She's fine. She may not have associated with the BEST possible candidate. But Cruz is at least qualified to be President of the United States and, in spite of what some of you guys on this board say, is not a complete nut. Trump is a complete nut job. He's not healthy in the head. And it's obvious. If you're a career politician (which Fiorina is not, BTW) and you associate yourself with Trump you are seriously risking your future.

Dear JSO,

You love facts.

You dislike empty rhetoric.

Please list the things that make Trump a complete nut job.

Be specific.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

That's the thing that cracks me up most about JSO'S constant railing on how electing Trump will be the death of America.

Trump hasn't DONE anything yet.

But anyone who votes for him is mentally unstable?

And a vote for Hillary will save this country from the doom and gloom of a Trump presidency?

But he's a Libertarian tho...

Jesus fucking Christ... :ohno:

Wait a second. I just read a couple of your posts in other threads where you TRUMPet integrity and honesty. And now you're suggesting career politicians should stay away from Trump because of what???

Every career politician you love is jealous of Trump. He's perfectly lampooned them. Given your critiques and offerings on music, drugs, and judges I always thought you to have a solid anti-authority/counter-culture streak in you. But when it comes to politics you are sadly pedestrian and all about the formality and pomp and circumstance of the establishment.

VERY disappointing. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

Kasich dropping out only makes sense if a) he has accepted the VP role or b) the party has something up their sleeve related to incriminating evidence on Trump and/or some other challenger that somehow enters the picture.

And Trump has taken it pretty easy on Kasich.

I find it hard to believe the stablishment had just decided to throw in the towel.

No towel throwing was necessary, Trump already has the ten count from the referee, the fight's already over.

Kasich is in 4th place. Delegate wise he is still behind Rubio, who dropped out in late March. Trump is getting go 1237, so there's not going to be a contested convention. Kasich had virtually zero chance at the nomination. No sense for him to continue on.

While he would be a good choice on the one hand, not a woman, not a minority, not from a big swing states (FL, OH, VA, PA)..Alabama is already a lock for Trump.

Since when has Trump shown us that he would pander to women or minorities by basing his VP pick on gender or race?

Trump is a pragmatist and he's going to pick someone even keeled with DC experience and a history of being more low key than the tea partiers. That's my take on it - he could surprise me but I think that is what he'll do

In don't see him being able to find a woman with both the skills and low enough self-esteem to work with him.
