The Phillies are now tied for the 5th best record in baseball. I'm not saying it will last, but they have certainly played beyond everyone's expectations thus far. Good pitching can win games, even if you can't hit a lick.

Now onto a 10 game road swing, the Cards series has me worried as they've had the Phils number for quite a while. Hopefully the bats gradually get better, still not hitting a whole heckuva lot.

I think it goes to show what can be accomplished with youth and low expectations. These guys are playing loose. Neat to see. If they can divert Ryan Howard money to some offensive mercenaries it could get good in the next few years.
