Yep and most of it has been more exciting than the NBA playoffs which with the exception of 1 or 2 series have been pretty bad.89Hen wrote:Is this still going on?

A win is a win, but boy did Tampa shit down their leg a little in the third period.
4-0 lead and hang on 4-3.
Series all tied up.

Re: NHL Playoffs
No. I've been paying attention (not necessarily watching every minute) to the games though. As with any local sports talk radio station, the Blues have been getting a lot of air time here. So in order to understand the whining after each playoff loss (8 so far), it helps to know a little bit. As an outsider, I do find the Blues to be a likeable team. Stastny went to my sons' high school, so there is a bit of a rooting interest.AshevilleApp wrote:Have you been going to any of these?CAA Flagship wrote:Must win game for the Blues today

Tampa heads home with a chance to finish off the series. Baldy has been awful quiet the past two games.

Puck Fittsburgh. They'll probably still win the series though. Just a hunch.

Fleury was way below average last night and Tampa has had quite a bit of puck luck the last two games.
It's OK though, 93 is probably right.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Tampa has surprised me though Pitt's goaltending has been weak in this series which can kill a better team. Thought both this series and the STL/SJ series would be quick 5 game series. I was wrong in both cases and in both cases, the weak favorite's goaltending has been part of the reason as both favorites have had to use more than 1 goaltender this series.

The Blues didn't score for 2.693 games -- last half of the first game and games 2 and 3. I'd say goal tending was not their problem.tribe_pride wrote:Tampa has surprised me though Pitt's goaltending has been weak in this series which can kill a better team. Re: NHL Playoffs
Games 2 and 3, neither goaltending nor scoring was good for the Blues. Can't give up 3 goals on 14 shots (but also have to score). Elliott had a very good first game but only .870 save % in game 2 and a bad .786 in game 3 and can't happen if you expect to win in the playoffs. Things reversed in Game 4 when the Blues scored on 4 of their first 19 shotsCitadelGrad wrote:The Blues didn't score for 2.693 games -- last half of the first game and games 2 and 3. Re: NHL Playoffs
Insane goal by Brouwer. Someone took a shot and goaltender made a save so puck went in the air to the side. Brouwer did a slap shot like shot with the puck in the air and knocked it into the goal. Impressive skill on that goal.

San Jose is throwing a regular ass beatin' on St Louis.

3rd Place team in the Pacific takes it to St. Louis. Imagine what happens if Tampa beats Pitt in tonight's game 7. San Jose vs. TB - exactly what you think of when you think of hockey.

I'm just glad to see someone other than the Kings or Hawks win it.

FWIW, San Jose is in the #6 market in the country, St Louis is #21 and the Blues are not a name that gets people more excited than the Sharks.Ivytalk wrote:And the TV ratings will be in the toilet!
