You can have ours. God knows we don't need the capacity now that Sears has returned Hornet FB back to dumpster fire status.kalm wrote:Ursus A. The athletic department has done a great job raising our profile, increasing donations, and making incremental improvements to Roos ...Jumbotron and audio, stadium apparel shop, new upper level parking, improved concessions. It's not as if we've been idle and the game day experience is way ahead of where it was in 2009.
If we could remove the track and add even the same type and size of erector set seating on the east side as we have in the north end zone, we'd be in decent shape.

What, you don't remember the Sac State golden year, when they sort of almost made the playoffs?

Oh, I totally remember that. 20-0 deficit, 24-20 win, intercepted option pitch for a touchdown.Grizalltheway wrote:What, you don't remember the Sac State golden year, when they sort of almost made the playoffs?
I'm more confused about why someone would blame Sears for a bad record in a rebuilding, youthful year where success would've been near impossible regardless of the coach.
Re: Welcome back, Idaho
It will be great to have all Idaho week again. Btw, the ASISU Minidome was the first on a college campus.

Montana State has a GREAT venue that can directly compete with WaGriz, and if they pitch the "we're about to rebuild the rest of the stadium like we did this Endzone" card, they can beat UM for recruits easily.
Eastern Wasington has Red artificial turf, Jumbotron, newer press box & Endzone seating. 4 things EWU didn't have 15 years ago. Result? Lots of Big Sky titles and a National Championship! Not to mention EWU is a more desirable place to live and attend school.
If EWU gets ANYTHING BUILT on the eastside...... You are fxcked bro beans.

EWU was never poorly attended, they just have a small stadium. 10 years ago EWU had similar attendance to ISU, PSU, NC, CSUS, Cal Poly SLO, & UC Davis. Don't ever look down your nose at EWU again! Montana is not what they used to be and they'll NEVER be the dominant force they once were. That WaGriz doesn't shit on the rest of the sky like it did 15 years ago.

The red turf will be great looking to their recruits, it is much more attractive than a jail cell.

2007: 3-8
2008: 6-6
2009: 5-6
2010: 6-5
2011: 4-7
2012: 6-5
2013: 5-7
"Competitive" I guess is a good thing for Sac State, and these numbers look great for a school that historically hasn't been competitive.

1995 and 2001 FCS NATIONAL CHAMPS
Big Sky Champs - '69, '70, '82, '93, '95, '96, '98, '99, '00-'09, '11
National Champs Runner-Ups: '96, '00, '04, '08, '09
Playoffs - '82, '88, '89, '93-'09, '11, '13, '14

Aside from '07 and '11, those were "competitive" years, especially considering our history. 2014's 7-5 season (Sears' interim year) was also all Sperbeck recruits.Get'em_Griz wrote:Under Sperbeck:SDHornet wrote: We were competitive for a handful of years under Sperbeck.

Wasn't last year's 2-9 record largely with Sperbeck recruits, too?SDHornet wrote:Aside from '07 and '11, those were "competitive" years, especially considering our history. 2014's 7-5 season (Sears' interim year) was also all Sperbeck recruits.
My earlier point was that losing Saffron & Carter was likely to be too much for the Hornets to overcome regardless of the coach, and getting Sankey back wasn't gonna be enough to save that otherwise lousy D. Things might've been less bad if Ketteringham had established himself earlier, though—he was definitely better than Kniffin.
Now we should go back to talking about Idaho. On second thought, no we shouldn't…

Re: Welcome back, Idaho
There was a lot of under classmen that played last year, although about 30% of the starters on both sides of the ball were seniors (coaches went with more youth (Sears' guys) on the OL & DL than I expected). An excuse last year was that that Hornets were "young and inexperienced", but that excuse will be more relevant this season...which is why we will be just as bad as last season (max of 3 wins is my guess).Mvemjsunpx wrote:Wasn't last year's 2-9 record largely with Sperbeck recruits, too?SDHornet wrote:Aside from '07 and '11, those were "competitive" years, especially considering our history. 2014's 7-5 season (Sears' interim year) was also all Sperbeck recruits.![]()

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
