Congrats to the Pens. As everyone pretty much said, they were the hottest team going into the playoffs and it carried throughout.

I couldn't imagine cheering for a crybaby bitchhead nancygirl like Crosby on my team though. Gawd he's like a Portuguese soccer player on ice the way he flops around and cries to the refs.

I caught about the last 10 minutes of this game. Saw a couple of the game stats that summed up the series quite well. Pens had the Sharks doubled up in facoffs won, and held the Sharks to just 1 shot in the 3rd period (I think they finally go another shot or two in the final minute). Total dominance.

I think it's the same week as the Eagles Lombardi Trophy parade.

It'll be in a different city though, obviously.

:ohno: That joke doesn't even make sense. Come on, it shouldn't be that hard to make jokes about the Eagles, no reason to flub it factually like you did here. Come on, work a little harder. :ohno:

Memes aside, do you really think Crysby deserved the Conn Smythe?

Kessel had my vote too, but unless he scores 40+ points in the playoffs, the Canadian press isn't going to give that trophy to him over Crosby.

All jokes aside. Though it didn't show up in the box scores, Crosby was a monster in all 3 zones the entire playoffs.

No. I was pretty surprised. Hell, I would have given it to Murray over Crosby, but the Sharks had so few shots, he probably didn't deserve it.

1. Kessel
2. Murray
3. Crosby

Was last week, where the hell were you? 2017 odds already out and guess who one of the off-season favorites is again... yup, Caps. Who the hell would bet on them? :dunce:

Blackhawks 6-1
Capitals 8-1
Penguins 8-1
How are the Caps and Penguins looking from a 2016/2017 cap perspective? The Blackhawks are up against the cap every year and lose some good role players as a result.

The Hawks are on the hook with Toews and Kane for $21M a year. Add in Keith, Seabrook, Hossa, Hjalmarsson, and Anisimov, it makes you wonder how in the hell will they be able to keep Panarin or van Riemsdyk after next season.

The Pens are set for now. They're up against the wall as well, but most of their role players are locked in for the next couple of years. I'm guessing they're going to trade Fleury to get rid of his almost $6M salary, and with the retirement of Dupuis that will save almost $4M right there too. Gotta pay Matta that new contract he signed somehow. Cullen and Lovejoy are the only UFA of note. I doubt Pittsburgh even tries to offer Lovejoy since he's due to get paid, but I'm sure they would love to keep Cullen around for at least one more season.

Caps have only three real UFA's: Chimera, Weber and Richards. Losing any of them doesn't have much of an impact, but I do like Chimera and would hate to see him go. They also have $16M space for next year, so there is room for a couple big names if they're out there.
