Well exactly. Describe for me a real-life active shooter scenario recently where concealed carry would've made a difference? Even the really crazy whack-jobs pick locations where people have a hard time fighting back.

Most of the time you don't hear about where it was stopped outside of local media or it isn't a main point for the conversation, cause man stops shooting with conceal and carry doesn't drive a lot of ratings.

I would like to think that I would actively pursue/attack the shooter. But one never knows what they will do in that situation until they are in it.

"Single digit is good"?? No, but who knows what it would have been without the intervention of the armed citizen. He answered your question but you can keep trying to make your point I guess, facts be damned

I'm not supporting gun control. The quoted facts however actually do support gun control. Or, to paraphrase from elsewhere in this thread, when a citizen uses their gun in an active shooter situation they become an active shooter. The logic then becomes more guns = more shooters.

Would you rather people just shot people who looked intimidating? In order for a shooting to be stopped by someone with a CC the shooting has to start in the first place. People will most likely be hurt or die when it starts, but at least can be stopped quickly.

This here. For me to do anything else would be like asking me to "sweep" my house clean when I know there is an intruder in the house. I just don't have the experience to hunt down an active shooter.

It's not in your best interest to hunt down an armed assailant.

Let the anti gunners and cops deal with him

I'm just guessing, but I think there is a vast difference between what people SAY they would do versus what they actually would do. There are probably some internet tough guys who would say they'd take on the shooter and then skull-fuck him and blah blah blah, but they'd probably be the ones you hear about crying and shitting themselves in a corner using a dead body as cover. And there are probably some guys here who say they'd run and cower, but when push comes to shove they are the ones who black out on adrenaline and end up doing anything and everything they can to take down the shooter.

True. Nobody know how they would really react to the situation outside of a combat veteran I would imagine.

I've been in plenty of situations in life where I didn't respond how I thought I would. Now, I hadn't thought of my response to those situations as much as I have a active shooter scenario, but I still won't know for 100% what my reaction would be. I'm fairly certain as to what it would be, but most likely will never know.

You know you, but others know themselves and everyone is wired diferently.

I have been in high stress environments a lot and I just don't get like others do. I know how I act under extreme pressure.

Like I said earlier if I am somewhere where an active shooter is my CC is my insurance to put as much distance between me/my family and the shooter as possible. Nothing and nobody will stop me from leaving the building.

Everyone else is on their own

The part about CCW that worries me is the way it makes everybody start talking like a vigilante. Notice how whenever the subject of CCW comes up there is very little said about protecting yourself? The talk always turns very quickly to "protecting" everybody else from the bad guy with your new pistol that you probably can't hit a barn from inside it with. :ohno:

You want to play with guns enlist in the military, they have stuff that will give you wood on sight.

Too many variables to answer this question
-Do have family or friends with you? If yes, like has been said get them and yourself the f out if the area. If you can't, find at least concealment, better would be cover. Barricade if possible.

Numerous other variables:
-Are you alone? (No family/friends)
-1st off either get the F out of the area if possible or find cover and concealment. Is there cover and concealment nearby?
-Can you see the shooter?
-Where are you in relation to the shooter? In front of, behind, or to the side of. What distance?
-Can you determine there is only 1 shooter?
-Can you tell what type of weapon shooter has. Hand gun, long gun. If long gun semi auto or shot gun?
-What type of weapon do you have?
-How many people are there between you and the shooter?
-Are you somewhere where there are police in the area?
