How much of an idiot is Goldschmidt for signing his contract? He will be 31 when it's done. Mauer is #14 on the list, behind Ryan Howard and Mark Teixeira. Twins got their money's worth out of Mauer when they were paying him 3-400,000 per season, and even 10 million his MVP season.

I think the same will happen with Goldie, as long as he doesn't taper off too much during the next couple of years. He is a "young" 28, if that's possible....just over 3,000 PA's in his career... It is a team option for '19 though...pretty shitty deal by his agent, all around.
