Fair or not, you need to recognize who has the hammer and be compliant in these situations. There's time to allege inequities later.

Luckily two people were there with cell phones to record the whole thing.

Clearly these cops were doing it wrong, the SOP is to harass and threaten anyone close by that has a camera or a cell phone and scare them off.

I've mentioned before that right after Michael Brown was killed, I did a project for DHS where we tested and examined body cameras for LE. Even the best body camera, could easily be dislodged during a chase or after a long day ( the weight wears down the strength of the fabric). So, to hear that they were dislodged during a scuffle makes sense to me.

Ill withhold judgement until more facts come out. I know many will condemn the cops, and they might be guilty, but I'd withhold judgement until more, irrefutable evidence is presented.

Those C-stores, normally for insurance purposes, have multiple camera's facing out. I bet there are 2-3 angles showing the altercation, before and during.

Spoiler: show
I just went through an insurance claim for something that happened at a C-store and was advised by 2 national insurance companies that these places are required to have several cameras on the front.

In the case here in Baton Rouge the guy should not have had a gun as stated, but if you watch both videos you can clearly see his right arm is across his chest the officer holding it there (the gun was in his right pocket) his left arm is pinned to his left side with one of the officers knee on it. They had both of his arms watch both videos and tell me what you think?

Exactly. The few times I've ever been pulled over (with the one stop ending in my arrest) each time I've turned the car off, hands on the dash and let them know there was a potential weapon in the car. :thumb:

I don't see how difficult it is to understand that.

If the police are in the wrong, you will escape with your life if you DON'T RESIST. Why is that so difficult to comprehend? Nobody likes getting hassled, but aggravating the situation by being difficult doesn't help.

Oh, wait, skelly didn't tell the whole story...surprise.

"In addition to Friday’s shooting, officer Lou Golson was shot and injured Jan. 3 after he pulled over a drunken driving suspect. The suspect was arrested three days later, and has pleaded not guilty to charges that include attempted murder."

So, a police officer in the same city was shot by a perp...and people are supposed to suddenly not be on guard? And, of course, we do not know any details about the shooting...but skelly wants to automatically make some example of a police officer shooting someone that might not have been a sticky situation. :dunce:

Post those videos...because the video on the link that started this thread doesn't show that. In fact, the video contains audio from one source, while showing two videos.

Post the videos you claim show what you state happened.

OK, I just watched the video posted on the Washington Post.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/mor ... -shooting/

In the video, the police clearly tell the guy to get down on the ground.

Of course, the guy doesn't comply.

A few seconds later, they wrestle him to the ground.

Does the guy suddenly get prone and give up?

Nope.

The officer has to struggle to pull the guy's left arm down.

So, the struggle continues. Suddenly, one officer shouts, "He's got a gun!"

The other officer pulls his gun and tells the guy not to move.

Then an officer says, "He's going for the piece!"

Does everything end there?

Nope...still a struggle. :dunce:

Then, an officer shoots the guy.

You can't see, in that video or the other video I can find, where the CD seller's right arm is. If you can show another video, then post it. Otherwise, you are simply making something up.

The guy reportedly threatened another person with a gun. He has a record. Police come and tell him to get down on the ground. Does he get down? No...he decides to make things difficult.

Then, after being taken down, does he comply?

No.

Fvck that guy. In the two videos provided, is appears the guy brought this upon himself.

How to not get shot:

1) Don't have a gun
2) Don't make sudden moves
3) Comply with officer's requests
4) Do not resist arrest.

Again, if you have a video that is different, then post it.

The BR guy was a felon and convicted child molester.

No sympathy in that case.

The Philando Castile case is beyond fucked, a basic breakdown in standard police procedure lead to the death of a citizen with no record.

Its possible he needed killed on gp but it still looks like an execution. The store owner didn't seem to have a problem with the guy being there - meaning he didn't think the guy was scaring off customers.
