I am transitioning from my old Red Sox blog to an American League East Blog... I am looking for at least one fan from each of the teams mentioned in title who would like to be part of the blog... I already have someone from Baltimore (andy) but if there was another who wanted to be part of it too that would be great... Also if any of the Red Sox fans here wanted to be involved that would be great too.
You wouldn't have to spend much time on the blog... I will paste what I said to andy about what one could do...
Well there's no set standard for what you can choose to do...
I could make suggestions, but it would depend on how much time a day or week you wanted to put into it...
If you wanted to take 10 or 15 minutes a day, you could probably have a different topic each day of the week... Maybe on Mondays give a brief rundown of the AAA team, or on Wednesdays you can do a introduction to a different player so people not familiar with Baltimore could learn a little bit.
You could also just do a quick rundown of top stories each day about the O's sorta like this...
To give you an idea of what I will do for Boston will be along the lines of this..
Each day a rundown of links.
Sunday: Weekly recap
Monday: Player of the week
Tuesday: AAA recap
Wednesday: AA recap
Thursday: A recap/ A Advanced recap
Friday: A Short season recap/ Rookie League recap
Saturday: Meet _____________
I would then mix in any major events as they happen.... now of course I have tons of free time so I can plan to do a lot, I know most people cant.... but you get an idea of what you can do... and of course don't be limited to those ideas.
I am looking at a June 1 launch date, but that will depend on how quickly I can get at least one person for the other three teams.
I can see Andy doing this for three days, tops. Until he realizes that typing out a blog every day takes away any free time that isn't already taken by his kids and wife. And we all know that any free time Andy has he devotes to porn and/or ogling the neighbor's daughter tanning in the back yard.

lol
Well I told him it doesn't need to be an everyday thing, that's why I hope to get 2 people for each of the teams.

I'm in for the Rays!
great... so far we have 1 for each team except Toronto... I'll prolly hit the MLB Jays forum later this week and see if I can find someone....
I will begin setting up the blog tomorrow and get it ready for a launch around June 1.
Two things for everyone who is going to be part of it...
First, if you can write a brief "about me" blurb I can post for all the posters... and second, if everyone wants to toss out some name suggestions for the blog...
Once we have a name I can work up a banner and locate a custom url for it.
A-Rod the mvp of the team? Hardly. Teixeira is one, if not the, hottest hitters in baseball. He has a 13 game hit streak, 13 home runs in the month of May. He's on fire. A-Rod has calmed way down already.

So why was the team two games under 500 without him, 11 over with him?
willie hooked us up with a total kickass banner. Still trying to lock down a name for the blog... something simple so I can register a URL for it.
I will fill in the side bars today with content and then add the contributors. I need an email address for everyone who has expressed interest in being part of it.. you can PM them to me.
One thing that will be important is when making a post to use labels... I am thinking of just using a few different labels for each team for example...
Orioles (This will be a basic label used on all posts about the Orioles so a reader can easily find posts about a certain team.
Orioles News
Orioles Prospects
Orioles Rumors
I can add whatever for the teams... but I have to do the label list manually because I want to have them seperated by team as opposed to the automated label list blogger generates. So if anyone has specific label ideas let me know so I can add them... When making a post each post would then be labeled with atleast just the "Orioles" tag and then any other that apply.
