Looking at the parking map the South lots (car, not RV) look further out than the north. Regardless they have their tram system for North and South lots which if used will cut way down on walking.

Unfortunately I guess you are one if the few people ingressing from one direction and egressing in another. 106 from what I remember coming from the south, is 3 northbound contra flow lanes before the race and 3 southbound after.

Looking at google maps here if you park South lots, after the race you may have to loop 10+ miles south on 106 in the heaviest egress traffic back to I393 then over to I93 north.

To park North you may have to take I93 North to Belmont & then loop around over to Tilton then 106 south to North lots.. I imagine from the North parking egressing north has way less traffic than South parking egressing south towards Boston.

I guess either way you'll face extra time..

Dale Earnhardt Sr. rolls over in his grave.

Jr. to miss Sunday's race due to "concussion symptoms".

Will likely now have to make the Chase by getting medical approval from NASCAR to get the Kyle Busch/Tony Stewart deal of finishing in top 30 in points and getting a win. The hard part will be the win.

The one silver lining to this suckiness is that if Jr misses a second race they are going to dust off Jeff Gordon and put him in the 88 next week at the Brickyard. That will be pretty damn cool if it happens.

Jr is in 14th in the Chase standings:
+1 over Dillon in 15th
+22 over McMurry in 16th____________
+32 over Bayne in 17th,
+39 over Kahne in 18th,
+47 over Blaney in 19th.

Haven't seen any analysts on this yet. Here's the way I see it. After Loudon he slips to to 15th, 16th, or 17th, depending on how McMurray & Bayne do.
-If he misses only Loudon I think he'd still point his way in if we don't have any new winners. Good chance he would if only 1 new winner.
-If he misses Loudon & Indy he could maybe point his way in if no more winners. Another winner and he'd highly likely have to get a win.
-If he misses any more than Loudon and Indy he'd definitely have to get a win period.

Well Traffic won't be as bad now. I think attendance just went down 5-10k with a drop in last 3 day sales & walkups, + some no shows from JR fans who already had tickets.

It was never going to be close to a sellout anyway, judging by the fact I bought my tickets about a month before the race and could pick anywhere I wanted to sit other than the shaded area under the start/finish press boxes. That was the only full area, and only the top 20 rows. i'd guess 80% of seats were still available. Was probably going to be 60-70% capacity and now will probably be 50-60%. NASCAR just doesn't sellout much anywhere any more. Hell, it's no problem getting an August ticket at Bristol and those used to be like trying get a spot for Springsteen at the Meadowlands.

JJ takes the pole. Logano 6th. Looking forward to seeing Joey tomorrow. I'll send your pleasant regards. :D

Wait, you went to the fucking race? And didn't offer to say hello? You're a strange person bro.

I took your advice and came in from the north. THANKS - good advice! We parked on the side of the entry/exit road across from N7 and got right out no problem. Red tram stopped right there. We got to Lincoln NH after the race in around an hour I think. It's a really cool little ski resort town. Restaurants are all bustling with outdoor seating. Fun vibe.

Race was another snooze fest until the last 50 laps. I was texting with Flaggy about Truex and poor Truex screwed the pooch. Can't believe Logano salvaged a 3rd after being very mediocre during the race.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of NHMS. It's better than a 1.5mi cookie cutter, but not by a lot. The restarts were the most exciting part.

The more I get to new tracks, the more I appreciate Dover, Martinsville, and Richmond.

I said in earlier post was going. :? Turns out we weren't parked or sitting anywhere close to you'all though..

Smallest crowd of the 3 races I've been to. Might not have been more than 50k there. We got back to my truck 1/2 hr+ after race ended and unlike the previous races I've been to, traffic was already moving. Short tailgate after race and were pulling out about an hr and a half after the race ended. Abou 45 min to go the about 1st 20 miles on Rt 106/I393/I93. Not as bad as the past leaving 2+ hrs after the race ended..

Yeah, 1st 250 laps was boring outside of some good racing between Truex and Kyle Busch for the lead. Only 7 cautions, but 4 in the last 40. Sept 14 race I was at had 15 cautions.

Unbelieveable for Truex- now the 4th race he has led the most laps, and the 5th or 6th race where he had the best car, yet only 1 win to to show for it.

Bowman did well subbing for Jr- was running 9th when he wrecked on lap 265 with a cut tire..

Maybe they'll find out why JGR is better than everyone of late:
The Joe Gibbs Racing No. 20 Toyota of race winner Matt Kenseth failed post-race inspection Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The car did not meet compliance in the laser inspection station (LIS) after Sunday's New Hampshire 301. The car will face further scrutiny this week at the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina.

Yeah, said to my brother when Truex took the lead for the last time watch something break or some screwup happen on pit road... Sure enough.. :ohno: I mean how hard can it be to making a f'ing durable shifter.. :ohno: Jr had one break not once, but twice last year, and I think a couple of other drivers over the last year or 2 have had the issue as well. With today's technology they should be able to make one strong enough that has zero % chance of breaking for 1 race..

If Truex bought a pumpkin farm they'd cancel Halloween...
-Dominates Texas, leads the most laps, but is a sitting duck on a late caution on tire strategy, Kyle Busch wins.
-Dominates Kansas, leads the most laps, but last caution has a head bolt breaking off the brake caliper and lodging behind one of his front wheels. Analyst/former crew chief Larry McReynolds said he has never seen it happen in his 35 years in catches between the wheel & hub, Kyle Busch wins.
-One of the best cars at Dover. On last pit stop lets Edwards pass him so Truex can restart 4th on the outside behind leader Johnson & Edwards has to restart 3rd on the inside. Johnson's transmission locks up and won't go, takes out a double digit # of cars, including Truex. Johnson said that was the 1st time it ever happened in his career on a restart. Edwards doesn't get taken out, Kenseth wins
-The best car at Kentucky, leading on the last pit stop, & gets called for passing on pit lane, something that is almost never called.
-Best car at Loudon yesterday, led the most laps, late pit stop suffers broken shifter and clutch failure..Kenseth wins.

It's official: Jeff Gordon will drive the 88 car for at least the next two races. This will be really fun to watch. He is very good at Indy (5 wins for Gordon and 9 for Hendrick Motorsports out of the 22 races run there).

Damn, Jr missing 3 races (Loudon already, Indy, and Pocono) means 100% he will have to win one of the last 5 to make the Chase:
-Watkins Glen- not happening- he's never won a road course..
-Bristol (was 2nd in the April, 1 career win).
-Michigan (was 39th in June- wrecked early, 2 career wins).
-Darlington (was 8th last Sept running this year's low downforce package, 0 career wins).
-Richmond (was 13th in April, 3 career wins).

This reminds me of the Rowdy Burns, Cole Trickle situation in Days of Thunder..

Michigan is his best bet. He ended his long drought there several years ago.

I'm hoping Greg Ives can learn from Jeff Gordon. It's a unique opportunity that could help Jr.

Maybe. But that's more of a wildcard. He has never run the current package at Michgan. This will be the 4th different package run in the last 4 Michigan races
-Last year 1st Michigan ran the disasterous increased downforce/high drag package, 2nd Michigan ran the regular downforce package
-1st race this year ran the LOWER lower down force package.
-2nd race this year running the lower down force package

Over the last 2 seasons we have seen 4 non superspeedway downforce packages as NASCAR experiments to try to get the best racing:
-Increased downforce/high drag package: 2015 run experimentally at 1st Michigan & Indy (was pretty disasterous).
-Regular downforce package: 2015 run at 32 of 36 races & 2016 run at 4 superspeedway races.
-Lower downforce package: 2015 run experimentally at Kentucky & Darlington & 2016 run for 30 of 32 non super speedway races.
-LOWER lower downforce package: 2016 run experimentally at 1st Michigan & Kentucky (might see for non speedway races 2017).

I think I got that right....

Missed it. Should have recorded it. Watched highlights.

They should try running the Xfinity at Eldora. If that goes well then try the All Star race there. That would be pretty damn cool.

Gordon qualifies 21st. Not bad considering he hasn't raced in 8 months and he's only raced this lower downforce package twice- at Kentucky & Darlington last year..

JGR is just running on a planet with less gravity and a thinner atmosphere right now. Everyone else is fighting for the crumbs they leave.

It's been an increasing theme for 8 years now, but wow is the attendance terrible at Indy today. I know it's hot, but this is likely Jeff Gordon's and Tony Stewart's last races (both Indiana guys) and there is what looks to be around 15% of capacity watching. The bottom half of the stands are empty at the start finish line and that is with entire sections of the turns blocked off with advertising tarps.

Here's an in-race shot of the stands near start/finish. You'd think these would be primo spots in the shade. And the whole track looks like that:

Here is a turn section that is open:
