Putin will pwn Trump as well.
Trump has no experience in foreign policy at all. He has no qualms at all about disintegrating NATO. I'm not sure what makes y'all think that Trump would have any success against Putin.
Hillary is trash... but, I don't get how y'all are so excited about Trump...

See my reply in the other post, but basically its known failure due to past outcomes with hilldog vs unknown outcome due to unknown actions/policies with Trump.Skjellyfetti wrote:Putin will pwn Trump as well.

I'm saying a weakening of NATO is Putin's ultimate goal.
I don't give a shit if NATO is weakened.
Putin masturbate's furiously every night before bed to the thought of a NATO-less Europe. If you're criticizing other leaders for getting "pwned" by Putin - how can you be for a weakened NATO?

I've been saying in these threads for the longest time that the destruction of NATO is Putin's wet dream.
He will do it, too- he will start a war just to test the resolve of NATO to go to bat for countries like Latvia. And he'll win.
So why give him the political coup? We should be finding ways to draw down our participation in NATO. Trump is on the right track there. He's saying it in a Trumpy way, but wait until someone asks Gary Johnson about NATO

My
is that NATO, as originally conceived, made geopolitical sense. We just let too many pissant countries in later -- including Turkey.

Re: HillaryLeaks
I agree with that completely.
Russia was actually a decent ally in the early 2000s before we let in the Baltics in 2004. If we'd remained on good terms with Russia... many of the foreign policy shit shows - from Iraq to Syria - would have ended far better.

Re: HillaryLeaks
It'll be interesting to see if more info comes out. What I've read says that the donors that were on the list had all given to hillary and none of them had donated to bernie. No proof yet that they were coordinating, but lots of conjecture that hillary's campaign was involved.Ibanez wrote:I know people will, but I won't associate that with the Clinton campaign. Texas's voter I.D. law doesn't address this at all.
Why?
If was fraud committed during the Democratic primaries... it almost certainly wasn't done in-person... that's pretty fucking inefficient if you are the DNC trying to perpetrate fraud on elections you run.

Re: HillaryLeaks
I wanted to be careful before I jumped on the "Russia is trying to help Trump" bandwagon. But I found stuff like this that came out before the Wikileaks thing on the DNC.
This one is from the day before the Wikileaks thing hit the news:
http://www.politico.eu/article/why-russ ... n-kremlin/
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-e ... SKCN0WQ1FA
"The palace jester." That's a pretty darned apt metaphor. Captures the Trump essence darned near perfectly.
This one is from the day before the Wikileaks thing hit the news:
http://www.politico.eu/article/why-russ ... n-kremlin/
This one comes from back in March:Earlier this month, Russian Trump fans — including Putinologists, mild and far-right nationalists, anti-globalists and Donbas separatists — gathered in annexed Crimea to discuss post-November U.S.-Russia relations during a 9-day long Kremlin-financed forum. Even the militia leaders of self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics showed up. Sitting in the presidium at a table covered in red cloth, Sergei Markov, the organizer of the annual forum since 1999, explained to the auditorium full of political scientists and graduate students, that once America elects “the palace jester” Trump as its president, the Kremlin’s life will be easier everywhere — in Syria, in Ukraine, in Europe and at home.
http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-e ... SKCN0WQ1FA
It's hard to tell for sure, but right now it's looking very reasonable to believe that the Russians are indeed trying to help Trump win and the Wikileaks thing is part of that effort. Doesn't surprise me. Why WOULDN'T they want the US electorate to pick somebody who has no clue and is totally unqualified? Give them an advantage. The Kremlin can't believe its luck," said Konstantin von Eggert, an independent Moscow-based political analyst who believes the Obama administration has not been forceful in countering Russia.
"President Obama and (Secretary of State) John Kerry were a dream team for them, but now they have an even better option; someone who thinks that America should have nothing to do with the rest of the world."
"The palace jester." That's a pretty darned apt metaphor. Captures the Trump essence darned near perfectly.

Regardless - if it is the Russians then we need to send them a very stern response as a reminder that you don't interfere in our elections.
Option 1 (for the doves): Economic sanctions. And we get the EU on board by tying our NATO participation to it. (If we're going to foot most of the bill for a useless treaty organization at least we should get some leverage out of it)
Option II (for the hawks): splash a plane or two the next time they buzz our ships or intrude into our airspace

Ok, I'll have to admit I was wrong about the leaks.
Edward Snowden and Bradley Manning should take notes. This is what whistle blowing is.
The gnashing of teeth of Democrats over how "banana republic" the RNC is has now been exposed for the rank hypocrisy that it is. The stuff Hillary and the DNC are going to completely get away with makes the sophomoric antics of the RNC seem trivial in comparison.
The hackers should get medals.
