Mexico might finally be getting the picture

Post by grizzaholic »

MEXICO CITY – Mexican soldiers captured a drug cartel suspect accused of helping procure the largest illegal weapons cache found in the country, authorities said Tuesday.

The federal government also moved forward in its campaign to root out corruption, rounding up 21 more police officers in several northern cities for questioning on suspicions they had ties to drug trafficking. A total of 58 officers have been detained since the operation began Monday.

With all of the Mayors, city officials, police officers, it seems that Mexico has finally realized that if they don't get a handle on this drug problem/killing problem they will be in for a long tourist free summer and beyond. 10,000 people killed since 2006??!! Well, the lack of tourism from the violent attacks, the swine flu might have had a small part in it, seems to have hit Mexico where it hurts the most. In the pocket book.

Reminds me of the opening credits on Monty Python and the Holy Grail: "Those responsible for sacking those people have now been sacked!"
