DNC planned to award major donors with appointments.
NO FUCKING WAY!!! SAY IT ISNT SO!!!

Boehn, who once served as chairman for the political action committee Citizens for Reagan, says that the fact that Democrats are lining up appointments to federal committees months before the general election is strong evidence of a quid pro quo. But, but Roberts told me there was no such thing!!!

“Having participated in the boards and commissions work for President-elect Reagan, I know there’s no need to involve partisans months before the election,” he told TheDC. “These appointments are made on a staggered basis so there’s no rush.”

“As with so much associated with the Clinton operations, there is an appearance that these appointments have been pressed into service as a device to raise funds.” Get the fuck outta here!

Another notable name is A. Robert Pietrzak. He’s global co-ahead law firm Sidley Austin’s securities and shareholder litigation practice. In that role he defends clients against securities class action lawsuits.

He has previous experience as a member of a federal commission. He once served on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Financial Products Advisory Committee.
But conks will continue to defend Citizens United and the corrupt system. And I'm sure stuff like this never happens on the other side of the aisle.... :coffee:

Lesotho is gone, but Mali is still available.

You've never told me what's wrong with my proposal: unlimited political contributions by individuals and business entities, with full disclosure of donors. What's wrong with letting the voters decide?

Hillary is trash... but, I don't get how y'all are so excited about Trump... :?
Who needs success against Putin? :suspicious:

Seriously, WTF are you complaining about?

Obama is trying to screw with Russia and Russia is kicking Obama's arse...and deservedly so.

We have no business on Russia's borders, yet we continue to operate as though they are a threat to us, so we keep pushing Russia into a corner. For what? My bet is for more markets for the Western wealthy.

To say that Trump would do worse than Obama is to believe that we should be fvcking with Russia...and that is just plain stupid.

It amazes me that people do not study their history, but they are willing to give opinions on global matters. Russia is not going to be a direct threat to the US. They can't occupy our land...they can't outperform us in the markets...they can't do shit to the US of gawdamned America...PERIOD.

Yet some folks want to paint them as the big bad wolf that we have to battle.

Frankly, that is a waste of time. Russia isn't going to roll into Germany...they just aren't. What would Putin gain by such a move? :suspicious: Russia isn't going to threaten any of our traditional allies or markets.

What Russia will do is try to steady their borders and reestablish what they see is their role in their neighboring states. Duh...that is what EVERY country tries to do.

Big deal. Let them.

Russia will simply do what we do...they will just do it in a less sophisticated and less sneaky way. Oh, the horror.

Again, we will need Russia more as an ally than an enemy. I am not concerned about Latvia, Georgia, Persnikita, or any other tiny country's interests. They have dealt with powers at their doorstep for millennia...they'll deal with it now. And let's not try to pretend that we are their saviors...all we are doing is putting different people in the driver's seats...the direction of travel isn't much different except for more useless distractions.

I'm sure the fact that Trump has a fortune large enough to self-fund his campaign had nothing to do with that.

Where have you been hiding? We're talking about political speech here, where transparent campaign finance disclosure has been seen as a positive ever since Buckley v. Valeo in 1976. If you give $200 or more in a federal election, guess what? No anonymity. If you're worried about losing your job if Safeway finds out about the $27 you gave to Bernie over the Internet, you may have legal remedies. Your big beef is with the 501(c)(4) "nonprofit" groups, which game the system by pushing positions on "issues" without (cough, cough) "coordinating with a candidate." My guess is that the IRS will find a way to deflate that scam sooner or later.
