Why not? We didn't tear the stadium down and completely rebuild it. :dunce:

Do you put ketchup on it? Some places automatically add ketchup. I didn't for many years. Then I got one without asking for ketchup and was forced to eat it. Not bad. Very different though.
Fuck no!

My 13yo, mia7171, once asked for a bite one Sunday morning when I was frying some up. No one had ever tried it in the family to that point, including catie7171 who has been "summering/working/living" in So Jersey her whole life. :ohno:
So I reluctantly gave her some. She ran away Yelling MMMMmmm HAM!!!! I now have to buy double the amount.

The White House was originally built with some slave labor, but the WH was completely destroyed in the War of 1812. On top of that the WH has gone under two complete remodels. One significant enough that the entire interior of the WH was gutted in the late 1940's - early 1950's so a new series of bunkers could be built under the house.

If you want, you could say that she sleeps (symbolically) in a house built by slaves, but the facts say otherwise. As usual, Politifact did a horrible job of explaining this. :coffee:

I don't know why you and lubejob are so confused. :?

1. Erk acquired a large amount of the financing to build Paulson on his own.
2. It is a slogan attached to the stadium.
3. The last time I checked, there isn't a slogan attached to the White House saying, "The House that Slavery Built".
4. The White House that slaves built doesn't exist any longer.

Whether on purpose or not, you two are being as dense as houndawg. He has an excuse, you two don't. :ohno:

Technically it does. The exterior is still original.

I don't have much of a problem with the "built by slaves" comment. Actually, I have to give her (or whoever came up with it) a lot of credit based on the impact of the statement for the people who give a shit. I'm a fan of great writing and marketing (Bud light anyone?). And I don't see a point in splitting hairs regarding the structure vs. the symbol that is the White House.

STL had that last weekend. Relief is on the way. I see temps mostly in the 80's for the next week or so. It's coming your way.

+1

It reminded me of a juggler I saw on TV many moons ago that pulled out an axe as part of his act and said, this was the axe that George Washington used to chop down the cherry tree... I had to replace the handle and the blade, but it occupies the same space.

I remember something from philosophy classes about this, but had to look it up because I couldn't remember what it was called.... Ship of Theseus:

To continue to split hairs, only a small portion of the south exterior wall wasn't rebuilt after the fire in 1814. All of the other exterior walls were rebuilt.

We should find out what percentage of those exterior walls were ACTUALLY constructed by slaves. :coffee:
