One thing that doesn't make sense. Trump is having exponentially bigger rallies that Clinton- including this week. Clinton's are tiny in comparison. But Clinton up in the polls. Weird..

Go to various search engines and type in "when is the election" and see what happens. Compare google to the others. :ohno:

Because Trump supporters are disproportionately whack jobs. I thought that during the primaries and he came to Baton Rouge on a night in the middle of the week when people had to go to work the next day and a bunch of people went to go see this clown speak. What kind of nut does that? You have to get up and go to work the next morning and you drive into Baton Rouge, fight crowds and traffic, etc., to go see a buffoon with a marmot on his head spout nonsense?

Seriously, though, I think Trump has a core of very dedicated supporters that show up at rallies. But in the grand scheme of things the number of people who show up at rallies is a tiny fraction of the overall electorate.

Just had a little fun. Got a fund raising thing in the mail from the Trump campaign. As I hoped when I saw it, it has a postage paid return envelope inside. So I wrote a letter to put in it. Here's the text:
I’ve voted Republican in every Presidential election of my lifetime starting with Reagan vs. Carter and never thought I’d see the day when I’d do otherwise. But Trump has serious emotional maturity and stability problems. He’s a pathological liar. He’s morally bankrupt. He’s astoundingly ignorant with respect to the issues a President must deal with. He’s totally unqualified for the job.

I’ll probably vote third party. But in the unlikely event of it looking like my State is in play I am going to do what’s best for the Country as well as what’s best for the Republican Party by voting for Hillary. Hate to have to do that, but Republican primary voters left me no choice when they did such a horrible job of selecting a nominee.

P.S. My name is not provided because I hope you will continue to waste time and money soliciting contributions from me. I know it won’t be a lot of time and money wasted. But every little bit of wasted time and money spent by the Trump campaign fruitlessly soliciting me is a good thing.

Clinton's lead narrows to 3 in latest Reuters/Ipsos poll. Maybe his durability will continue even in the general.

After a very bad week and a half for Trump (DNC convention, spat with the Sharia supporting Khan), the last several days you have had:
-Hillary doubling down with the lie (twice- on Mike Wallace interview last Sunday and speech before black journalists yesterday) that Comey said her answers were truthful (even left leaning WaPo and Politifact are giving her major Pinnochios).
-Obama attacking Trump on multiple occasions- unprecedented for the outgoing POTUS to attack the candidate of the opposite party. I think that helps Trump
-Trump Has given some decent speeches at rallies (despite what JSO claims) endorsing other Republicans and focused on hammering Hillary. He's had a couple of days with no distracting statements/spats (ex Khan).

As far as the polls, like I said, they don't matter much yet..

Clinton snubs National Fraternal Order of Police, refuses to even seek their endorsement... :ohno: ..A group who ironically, endorsed her husband..

But I'm sure she'll seek and receive the endorsement of the anti police BLM..

I'm sure they're going to get a number of responses like that, If I thought to do it, it's pretty much guaranteed that a lot of other people thought to do it. So if you think to do it, do it.

I do think she did better on that yesterday but I still don't think she's saying it in the best way. She said her testimony to the FBI was truthful and it was consistent with what she's said publicly and to Congress.

I agree that even left wingers are reaming her over it; to some extent unfairly. I say that because they start from the premise that what Comey said demonstrates that she lied. It does not. As I wrote before, Comey said the FBI does not think that that she knowingly sent classified information and also does not think that she knowingly sent anything marked classified. If you say you never sent classified information or sent anything marked classified when you did but you don't know that you did, you're not lying. You can be legitimately criticized for not knowing things were classified or marked classified, but you're not lying.

The press seems to have this thing where 1) she said she didn't send any classified material and 2) Comey said she did send classified material therefore 3) she lied when she said she didn't send any classified material. Somehow the fact that Comey also said the FBI assessed that she didn't knowingly send classified material continues to escape media people. The fact that the FBI said she didn't knowingly do those things pretty much DOES support her contention that she was not lying when she said them. If you're relaying what you believe to be true while testifying, you're testifying truthfully even if some things you believe to be true are not true.

And, really, the media people have to be pretty dense not to grasp that.

But what I REALLY don't understand is why Clinton and her campaign don't just spell it out the way I just spelled it out. It's really pretty irrefutable if you do that. I mean, she doesn't have to get as long winded as I did. Just say, "I said what I honestly believed to be true at the time. Later on the FBI determined that some of what was sent was classified. But the FBI also determined that I didn't know that."

Pretty simple.

You're an idiot. When you make a statement without saying "in my opinion" or "I think" or "to the best of my recollection" then it is presumed to be fact. She lost all wiggle room. Now she must squirm like the worm she is on a frying pan.

That's nonsense. If my wife walks in and asks me where the milk is and I say "in the refrigerator in the kitchen" because that's where I think it is and it turns out it's in the refrigerator we have in the laundry room I didn't lie to her. I was just wrong about where the milk was.

And I don't think she'd have to squirm if she'd just handle it by saying she said what she honestly believed at the time to be the truth. I honestly don't know why she's having such a difficult time with this. I think if she just said that the voters that are "winnable" for her in any case would accept that. People like you wouldn't. But people like you wouldn't be voting for her even if stuff like Benghazi and the e mail server had never come up.

You had a 50/50 shot with the milk. As SOS, there was a 99% chance that something was sent or received. It requires a qualifier.

The e-mail server and Benghazi are the things that should have convinced voters that don't pay attention to not vote for her. I made up my mind on her long before that. The list of bullshit has a long history with her.

Its more like if your wife asked if you were cheating on her with the woman up the street and you denied it but the neighbor said you talked to him about it and you told them that you kissed her often over the last few months and fooled around once or twice but he didnt have proof that you had sex with her. THEN you went back to her and claimed that the neighbor said you didnt cheat on your wife.

That's the difference between us. I marked up a recent RNC fundraising letter in a similar way, but then I took my late dad's advice: I "slept on it," then threw it the fuck out.

No it's not. At least not according to what I've heard/read about it. If she told anybody she sent classified e mails using that system the FBI didn't find that. If it had she'd have been charged. Comey didn't say she knowingly sent classified e mails. Nobody has said they can show that she did that.

All that said I am hoping she's been watching the shows. I saw a CNN guy today ask why she doesn't just say that she said what she thought to be true and the FBI later found it it wasn't true. The FBI found nothing to contradict that take. So just say that and fold it into the mea culpa about knowing it was a mistake.

She'd better be ready because it's going to come up in the debates. Hopefully she'll take the obvious approach.
