Well, first of all... I don't really care. As long as it's somewhat clean, it flushes, and there is ample toilet paper... I haven't encountered a situation that's caused me to give a (metaphorical) ****.

But, I already answered your question in my first response. It's not about social justice warrior reasons... but, just convenience. It sucks to wander the labyrinthine halls of a university building (or similar) only to find the wrong **** bathroom and then having to wander around again to find the correct one. Nice to be able to just use the first one you encounter.

Solution: Make 2/3s of the restrooms into restrooms that anyone can go in...the other 1/3rd are for ostensibly-female people only.

Solution: Just leave things the way they were before a few years ago..

So, similar but different. Was dropping 89Jr at college and in the main lobby of the student center we come across two bathrooms. Normal set-up, one door on the right, one on the left. First door says "Gender Neutral Restroom" and has a symbol of a toilet bowl, hands washing and a wheelchair. Hmmm, OK. Go to the other door... same thing, only this one has two women walking into it. I pause and go back to the first to make sure I saw the same sign... yup. Now two women walking into THAT one too. I was so perplexed about where to take a leak, I decided I could hold it. I have a gender, I'm not neutral. These bathrooms were obviously not for me.

I have no problem with unisex or gender neutral bathrooms when there is one bathroom, a single user bathroom or the next bathroom is far away. This specific situation was clearly done unnecessarily and just to push the issue.

Truth be told, if there's going to be pushback, it will be from the females. I don't get the sense that guys give a crap where they go or who's watching. It's the females that will, when subjected to the idea of having to share bathrooms with guys, could speak up.

Show me where I cared "so much" about this. All I said is I decided to hold it and that it was "odd" that they had this set-up to placate 1 person a week while putting off a lot of other people.
