Apple meets EU tax collector... (Hilarity ensues)
European corporate tax havens... come crashing down
The trouble with doing business in America is we change too much corporate tax
But the piper has come calling back
“They put as much energy into tax avoidance policies as they did into industrial design,”

I love this shit.
America...wait...I thought they were paying you the taxes...
Europe...well we thought they were paying YOU!
Ireland...We don't really care if we're paid taxes.
Why are tax codes so complicated? You'd think they were written by people who benefit from complicated tax codes or something.
The obvious problem is that corporations love infrastructure, subsidies, AND tax breaks. It's what they're suppose to do. It's not their concern that countries build up massive debt and fail to maintain infrastructure.

It's not as if Apple was doing anything nefarious or secretive here. Everyone knew that Ireland was purposely collecting at a much lower tax rate that their fellows elsewhere in the EU or in the US, and both the EU and the US knew that.
If you don't like the people writing the laws then vote them out. If the next people write poor laws or if they are too affected by the corporations that benefit by how the laws are written then vote them out. It's not a terribly difficult idea, it's just that voters tend not to be very reliable or diligent.

Regardless of who's supposed to pay what and who's evil or whatever... It's still hilarious
Apple created a fake business with zero employees in Ireland and figured they were set
The EU is starting to crack down on the Ireland loop hole
and stands to collect billions from a whole slew of corporations
Where will they hide their businesses next..?

My only other question is, will apple users have to pay 3x as much now for their products as they are worth instead of 2x?

Corporations used to be required to serve a public interest.

Theoretically they should be anti globalization. It's similar to my snarky reply about fiscal responsibility. You can be anti-corporate taxes but when they once represented 33% of tax revenues and now represent 9% while personal taxes also shrunk and spending increased, you just ain't all that fiscally responsible.
