That's too close. But like I said on AGS, Mercer is returning 22/23(?) players that led their team to a losing season last year. El Cid was returning many star players AND played without Allen.

Correct, but if they were, they'd be middle of the pack. Even with the extra scholarships.

The redshirt freshman is going to be a beast- he just needs more experience with his reads. He's fast, shifty, and surprised me with his arm last night. He's also a lefty, btw.

It is nice to know he's in the stable and will be starting for good at some point.

Kudos to Mercer- they have a very good team on both sides of the ball. They will win more than half their SiCon games this year, and depending on how things go they could make the playoffs.

Albany beats Buffalo 22-16 for FCS's first FBS win.

Cal Poly now within 24-17 of Nevada. The Wolfpack scored 21 in the 1Q, but they only have 3 since.

Furman only lost to Michigan State by 15.

Take away the Samford game and they were only about 20 points off from a SoCon title. They also beat Chatty at the end of the season. They have 22 starters back. They have lost 3 in a row to us by a grand total of 5 points.

It isnt a stretch to say they are a playoff contender this year.

Shoot I was watching Albany at Buffalo on ESPN3 and turned it off at halftime. Albany was up 14-13 but the stats were something like Buffalo 240 yards, Albany 79 and Buffalo had scored right before halftime to gain, I thought, momentum. I figured Buffalo was going to take over in the second half and I was sleepy.

After a slow start Cal Poly held a traditionally strong Nevada offense to only 69 yards, 2 first downs and no points in the second half. Cal Poly compiled advantages of 23-18 in first downs, 445-363 in total offense and 36:09 to 23:51 in time of possession. I was disappointed in the loss, but happy with the effort.
