Charleston Southern QB out for season; 2nd string QB out for unknown time.

Post by bucs90 »

A waste of a game vs a heavily over matched Kentucky State team gave CSU an easy win but cost them dearly.

Starting QB Kyle Copeland out for the year w ACL and MCL tears. 2nd string QB is also out w undisclosed leg injury, didn't say how long.

Bad news going into Florida State.

So much for building momentum off the NDSU performance. :?

That happens way too much. One thing that I've found ironic is that when my alma mater (McNeese) started playing BCS League (that's what it was then) schools I worried about injuries. But that's not where the injuries have happened disproportionately. I haven't sat down and done the math but the big game injuries I can think about have in my mind seemed to happen with disproportionate frequency against opponents that are over matched.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Yep that's how it seems. We are an option team so I guess if you live by the sword...

BUCS DAD or anyone else....what's up with the 2nd team QB? Injury status? Is he as able as Copeland to run the offense? He actually looked like a better runner

Copelands best attribute at NDSU was limiting mistakes and appearing poised in a hostile environment. His running and throwing skills should be replaceable.

My understanding is that he had a slight hyperextension of the knee. Bucenell is a legit dual threat QB. Played in the Blue-Grey All American game his senior year of HS. Problem is Copeland is the only QB with any meaningful playing time. We may be stuck with Johnson at the helm for a couple of games.

Well, FSU is a meaningless game and we're off the 17th. So that gives us nearly 21 days for him to heal up for Monmouth. With out defense and RBS I'm not too worried. Hate losing Copeland but I think we will be fine.

Gather the wagons Bucs 90! The wheels are coming off, not. ITs not over! It is terrible whats happened in one week with your team, suspension NCAA violations, 2 QB's out, what the hell.... but hold on. In the midst of all this crap those other 60 players on your team have to lean on each other like their lives depend on it.
You guys have a stout defense. You have a good punter, you have a great run game and all your runningbacks are still there, so your 3rd QB needs to just trust his teammates to get through the early season and gain confidence.
You guys played BIG BOY ball with us, and we want to see you stifle FSU to no more then 28 points! Can you do it?
Defense needs to score once, and offense just help that 3rd QB get after it! Show the nation your the next Appalation State! Hang in there.

STay strong Bucs,
Be Herd, no quit verses FSU!

Haha 28??? Highly unlikely. FSU just hung half a hundred on Ole Miss with a freshman QB. He's got a game under his belt now. And our offense....probably won't do much at all vs FSU. My guess is Chadwell treats it like Bama last year. Sit the key starters and just collect a check.

CSU rep is on local talk radio right now. He says if this week was a Big South game the 2nd team guy could play but won't since it's FSU and there's a bye week next.

Says the 2nd teamer is very capable, just less experienced than Copeland.

I'm not as worried at all. Also...London Johnson apparently can run that option as well as anyone and he's gonna be in the mix from here on.
