I'm not sure anyone here has gotten more tickets than me. And many of them were in Virginia.
I had to go to court only once because of getting pulled for 82 in a 65 (considered reckless). Meh. Got dropped to non-reckless 79 and I paid a fine and walked away. No lawyer represented me.

Side note: I got pulled between Richmond and Charlottesville on my way to a UVA football game. I had just picked up Jerky Boys 2 in Richmond and was listening to it. I was laughing so hard that I wasn't paying attention to my speed. I told the Trooper that and he said he loved the first one but hadn't heard JB2 yet. I highly recommended it. He then gave me the ticket and told me to save the rest until I got home.

About two thirds of my now 50-mile each way commute is two-lane undivided rural routes. There are no posted speed limit signs, which by law here means the speed limit is 50 mph. I leave between 4 and 5 am. Sometimes I don't see another car for five or ten miles. It's so remote that I may have been alien-abducted and probed and not even known about it. There is just no way I'm doing 50 mph in those conditions. I have my radar detector going and Waze going, which is a nice combo for speed trap warnings, and I'm usually running 75-80 mph. When I finally get to US-50 (divided highway), I run behind whomever wants to be the lead dog, and they too are usually doing 75-80.

Knock on wood, I haven't gotten a ticket in two years, and I get there about ten minutes earlier than if I did the speed limit.
