They never found a gun at the car. No gun was observed on the video. This is what the Mr. Scott's lawyer stated after he saw the video tape.
Regardless, why was she saying that over and over? Telling someone not to do something means you expect them to do something. What was the something?

Did you know that Mr. Scott suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury and he just taken his meds. His wife also told the police that in the video. It is also verified that last yea he was in an accident resulting in a head injury. His wife also stated that her husband did not have a gun!!! She repeated that statement. Why would she tell that police a lie that they could find out the truth within seconds????

Even if he doesn't have a gun, he could still exit the car in a manner that would get himself shot.

Was she worried he would do something to provoke his own death?

Was the traumatic brain injury a result of the last time he failed to follow clear police instructions?

So many of these incidents could have been avoided if people just stopped fighting police. This guy, the girl that got pepper sprayed in Hagerstown.

JUST. FUCKING. COMPLY. and then you go home to your family if you did nothing wrong

I was stopped at 4:30 am last Thursday for speeding in Burrsville MD. The cop turned on his lights, I turned on my right turn signal, came to an easy stop, rolled down my windows, turned on both dome lights, put both my hands on the steering wheel where he could see them, kept cool, greeted the cop with respect and nothing but "yes sir"s. My license was in my wallet in my backpack on the passenger seat. I asked him if I could reach into my backpack to get my license out of my wallet.

I think the cop was relieved he didn't have to deal with some angry, uppity excuse-maker and he let me go with a warning.

The guy had a TBI, who knows what the hell was going on in his head. All I know is that this is not a good look for Law Enforcement. Going around killing people because they did not do what you told them to do is not the proper "use of force policy". You only us deadly force if you or others are in danger. Mr. Scott sitting in his car posed no danger to anyone. This is bad police training.

I agree that cops need better training in de-escalation. But if they perceive an immediate gun threat, all bets are off.

If the cop had asked me to step out of the car and do a field sobriety test, I'd have done it without saying a word. If he asked to search my car, I'd have told him to have at and probably made a little joke about putting it all back together the way it is now. If he had put cuffs on me and asked me to get in the back of his cruiser, I'd have done that too. At no point would I have become hostile or refused a request.

You can't kill someone because you perceived a threat. That's not what the policy states. If this was so, they would shoot anyone who gave them a dirty look.

Right. And in real life, people who get douchey with cops have a much higher chance of getting pepper sprayed or leaving the scene in an ambulance (or coroner's van).

So you are in favor of Law Enforcement taking the law of punishment into their hands. That not democracy, that a middle age feudal system.

I have no problems with a cop roughing up a disorderly person a little. Happened all the time to my Irish ancestors and they seemed to have learned their lesson. Where do you think the term paddywagon" comes from?

Bottom line: you make a policeman's life more difficult, he's going to make yours difficult too, and I'm OK with that, yes.

Yeah, because those dirty looks can be REAL dangerous.

The police recovered a gun at the scene. Lawyers weren't there. LE was. Your argument is invalid. This is one, poor quality video. I couldn't even discern who Scott was until the end.

Be honest, most of these people give police dirty looks and would rather argue and fight them and die then comply for 15 minutes and survive.

It was 9:30 pm and he's waiting for his son to get off the school bus? Cmon. What a bullshit lie. Why can't black men listen to police especially when they know that police are already in edge when they are going through a rough part of town? And yes, that part of town sucks.

The shooting did not happen at 9pm. This happened after 3pm. Look at the fucking video. In fact, there is a eye witness who saw the entire event. They just interviewed hr this morning as she was walking her dog. She saw everything. She even stated that a white policemen in a red shirt was the shooter. I'm going to look at the tape and see if there is a cop with a red shirt.
