Well, it is kinda true. If you think casinos can't fail then you haven't been to Atlantic City. What a dump. You almost have to shower after being there for too long.

Trust me. Atlantic City should be a jewel. Other than some improvements to the beach/boardwalk and some retail stores near the main entrance to Atlantic City, nothing has been done in that dump.
There has been so much corruption by the local politicians. It is unbelievable.
Here's just a bit of it:

Who's corrupting them? Casino owners who don't know how to win with the house's advantage? :coffee:

Even IF you're right it still wasn't a good business decision. :coffee: :coffee:

Economic downturns put a halt to discretionary spending. And high on that list is gambling. The downturn around 1990 was short-lived. But the most recent one was(is?) long, and is compounded with the competition in surrounding states that wasn't there in the 1980's.

BDKJMU wrote:Not surprised about the bias of Holt & NBC. Look at the questions Trump was asked (ex tax returns). Did Holt ask Hillary about her mishandling & lying about classified e-mails? No. Did he ask her about Benghazi? No. Did he ask her about the Clinton Foudation and pay to play? No.

Of course Trump blew it by not bringing these up, other than the 33k deleted e-mails. The good news for him is that he has 2 more debates to do this, and I don't think he will waste the opportunity again to hammer her on these issues..
A better summation of what I stated:
"At tonight’s debate, Donald Trump faced off not just against Hillary Clinton, but against moderator Lester Holt.

The game of two-on-one saw Holt ask no questions about:
Hillary’s emails
Benghazi
The Clinton Foundation

While ignoring these issues, Holt grilled Trump on stop-and-frisk, the birther story, his comments about women, his many bankruptcies, why he hasn’t released his tax returns — and a host of other issues the media sees as unfriendly to the Republican candidate.

Holt also repeatedly attempted to “fact check” on some of Trump’s positions, such as his claim to have opposed the Iraq War from the beginning. Holt interrupted Trump several times to interject, but rarely succeeded (and may have come across as weak and impotent).

The Twittersphere has taken note:.....

More excuses. They over-built just like many industries did and wandered away from the core business spending too much on outlandish hospitality. Meanwhile, the Indians are kicking ass.

Well, Trump is fucked for the 2nd debate. It will be as bad for him as it was with Holtz, maybe worse, since they'll be 2 liberal moderators to triple team him along with Clinton..

Wallace will give him a fair shake..

"Ultimately, in the early 1990s, Trump’s winning streak ground to a halt. The national economy started to slow down, and New York's economy stalled, causing Trump’s income streams to dwindle. Soon, he found it difficult to make the interest payments on the debt he'd accrued to finance his different businesses. Trump's annual loan payments were $300 million. The Trump Organization and its subsidiaries owed $9 billion, and Trump's personal debt totaled $975 million."

Right..!!!
He was $9 billion in debt

he's never even come close to having 9 billion

Nobody could successfully argue a guy that inherits a billion
turns it into Minus 9 billion
files bankruptcy multiple times
is somehow "good with money"

I thought you were just trolling at first. Now I think you are underinformed.
An advantage that Indian-run casinos have over their commercial counterparts is that they cannot file for bankruptcy and creditors can't foreclose on their properties because tribal governments are sovereign, said Clyde Barrow, director of the Center for Policy Analysis at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.

Well the ones around here are. Northern Quest keeps expanding and the Spokane Tribe broke ground on another mega-resort-casino just down the road. Probably an EC(b) fail in your article.

Throughout history in the EC(b), the Indians got their asses kicked.
Obviously, in the west, the Indians are still winning battles.
