Well, it is kinda true. If you think casinos can't fail then you haven't been to Atlantic City. What a dump. You almost have to shower after being there for too long.CAA Flagship wrote:Easy there.Ibanez wrote: It was in NJ. isn't that enough.

Trust me. Atlantic City should be a jewel. Other than some improvements to the beach/boardwalk and some retail stores near the main entrance to Atlantic City, nothing has been done in that dump.GannonFan wrote:Well, it is kinda true. There has been so much corruption by the local politicians. It is unbelievable.

Economic downturns put a halt to discretionary spending. And high on that list is gambling. The downturn around 1990 was short-lived. But the most recent one was(is?) long, and is compounded with the competition in surrounding states that wasn't there in the 1980's.kalm wrote:Who's corrupting them? A better summation of what I stated:BDKJMU wrote:Not surprised about the bias of Holt & NBC. Look at the questions Trump was asked (ex tax returns). Did Holt ask Hillary about her mishandling & lying about classified e-mails? No. Did he ask her about Benghazi? No. Did he ask her about the Clinton Foudation and pay to play? No.
Of course Trump blew it by not bringing these up, other than the 33k deleted e-mails. The good news for him is that he has 2 more debates to do this, and I don't think he will waste the opportunity again to hammer her on these issues..
"At tonight’s debate, Donald Trump faced off not just against Hillary Clinton, but against moderator Lester Holt.
The game of two-on-one saw Holt ask no questions about:
Hillary’s emails
Benghazi
The Clinton Foundation
While ignoring these issues, Holt grilled Trump on stop-and-frisk, the birther story, his comments about women, his many bankruptcies, why he hasn’t released his tax returns — and a host of other issues the media sees as unfriendly to the Republican candidate.
Holt also repeatedly attempted to “fact check” on some of Trump’s positions, such as his claim to have opposed the Iraq War from the beginning. Holt interrupted Trump several times to interject, but rarely succeeded (and may have come across as weak and impotent).
The Twittersphere has taken note:.....

Well, Trump is fucked for the 2nd debate. It will be as bad for him as it was with Holtz, maybe worse, since they'll be 2 liberal moderators to triple team him along with Clinton..
Wallace will give him a fair shake..

Right..!!!Baldy wrote:Cool story, bro.Chizzang wrote: Look boys and Girls,
Trump is alot of things but "good with money" isn't in his top ten...
"Ultimately, in the early 1990s, Trump’s winning streak ground to a halt. The national economy started to slow down, and New York's economy stalled, causing Trump’s income streams to dwindle. Soon, he found it difficult to make the interest payments on the debt he'd accrued to finance his different businesses. Trump's annual loan payments were $300 million. The Trump Organization and its subsidiaries owed $9 billion, and Trump's personal debt totaled $975 million."

But what about...

Nobody in the world would argue Donald Trump is "good with money"
He inherited every penny and has lost more than he's ever made
He was $9 billion in debt
he's never even come close to having 9 billion
Nobody could successfully argue a guy that inherits a billion
turns it into Minus 9 billion
files bankruptcy multiple times
is somehow "good with money"
