Again, I like this about Johnson.

He doesn't take himself or Aleppo seriously.

And yet he would be 100% better on foreign policy than any of the clowns currently running it, or when hilldog takes the reigns.

BTW, Johnson's Allepo quip is meaningless...because there is 'Merica then everyone else. :coffee:

Voting for Johnson in the hopes of a developing third party would be the only reason why someone could vote for Johnson. He's almost just like Trump in the buffoon category except not as loud. And I'm not sure he's even as smart as Trump is.

C'mon.

He's a better businessman and has a solid chief executive track record as governor of New Mexico.

Agreed.

If the Libertarians could assemble a team capable of actually winning in 2020, I'd be 100% behind them. My personal platform overlaps about 90% of their published platform, which is far more than I overlap with Democrats or Republicans.

The problem in 2016 is they have no shot in hell of winning, so you'd be a complete fool to vote for them when there's a chance the Clinton machine could be allowed back in the White House.

W's foreign policy was a failure, Obama double down on it (along with hildog riding shotgun) and made things worse. No doubt hildog will continue that trend. Trump has offered zero solutions or ideas other than blab about how NATO members need to contribute their fair share....but I have a hard time thinking a business man like Trump would do much to change the status quo (using US forces to keep oil pumping at a somewhat stable flow into the market place). So why not have a guy like Johnson tap the brakes on the nonsensical foreign policy we have engaged in for the past 16 years (and beyond).

I've seen some of my colleagues who are in the can for Clinton posting a lot of recent oppo on Johnson. The Clinton campaign is running scared enough that they are going after Johnson because they have seen the numbers that show that if Johnson wasn't in the race his supporters would be more likely to vote for her than Trump.

The left is making hay out of it, but I still find his answer of Aleppo to be qualifying rather than disqualifying.

It's the less than 30 years old demographic. That's where he's hurting her. No question that if they're asked to just choose between HIllary and Trump they choose Hillary by an overwhelming margin. But with Johnson about as many choose Johnson as choose Hillary. He basically comes close to spitting the anti Trump vote among the young demographic with her.

Hopefully they'll come to realize that they need to go ahead and vote for Hillary in order to avert complete disaster.

BTW, I don't think a history of pot smoking is the reason for Johnson's apparent cluelessness.

These are questions that require a bit of thought, not sound bites. I know the names of a fair number of foreign heads of state and couldn't think of a single one that's "aces." Hildabitch named Merkel, whose immigration policy has been a disaster for Germany. May of the U.K. hasn't been in office long enough for me to form an opinion. Trudeau is a clown. Mostly a bunch of mediocrities.Maybe the best answer is "none of the above." So GJ can be forgiven, in my view. But Weld seemed better prepared. (Harvard guys...).

Favorite SCOTUS Justice of the current eight?Well, after eliminating the liberals, and ruling out Kennedy because he loves to be called The Swing Vote, that leaves the remaining conservatives. With Scalia gone, and Roberts ruled out because of his two copout rulings on Obamacare, I guess I'd have to say Alito or Thomas. Again, not a sound bite question.

Of course, Trump would identify BDK's hero, Putin, as his favorite world leader. :coffee:

Hasn't that been your biggest gripe about Obama/Hillary? Their supposedly disastrous foreign policy?

You can like it or hate, but given the absolute corruption of one of the major candidates and the bullying tactics with lack of both judgment and understanding of the other one, what's it matter. I am going to vote for Johnson. Admittedly, if he had a chance in to win I might have a different opinion. While mostly libertarian myself, It has always been the problem with libertarians, they are either cranks or kooks. But then I look around at Donald and Hillary, and again think, what's it matter :?
