Pence clearly won the debate last night; he was on point and and pretty clear about his policies (although I don't think he defended Trump well). That said, I think both Pence and Kaine are smart guys that simply have vastly different views on things; either would do an acceptable job at the Presidency if it came down to it...although I completely disagree with Pence's policies on pretty much everything.

Pence won that debate in the first 5 minutes. After that, it was all downhill. MrsCCU who normally votes (D) thought Kaine was a weasley, little man whereas Pence was even keeled and focused.

There is absolutely no evidence that the Administration intervened to influence the FBI and the Justice Department. You guys need to drop the conspiracy theory crap and just accept that the FBI determined that there was not sufficient basis for charges.
You watched a different Comey presser than I did then. After he laid out all the evidence damning her behavior, most of us thought the next sentence would be "I recommend indictment." How did Bill know Lynch's plane was on the same tarmac? Why would she allow him on the plane? If she's the brightest legal mind we have didn't she know there would be a perception of conflict of interest?
Plus he wants to eliminate the estate tax and that also will benefit the "rich."

Now, I don't agree with the kind of class envy that exists in association with that kind of thing. But it does exist and it's something the Democrats could exploit.
Do only rich people inherit estates? Just wondering - it seems that's how a lot of not so wealthy people become more wealthy. :coffee:

I already told you there is no good choice. I'm not rationalizing that Trump is great, just simply that the Clintons are far from the idealistic paragons you perceive them to be.

Trump had some funny tweets last night during the debate:

"No she only gets #Americans killed #Benghazi"

"Loving @mike_pence he's so likeable and sensible. Kaine is just talking bull!"

"Kaine says Hillary and he have plans. She could care less what Kaine thinks."

"I want a "you're fired" president with people in Govt who are WASTING my tax $'s."

"Kaine looks like an evil crook out of the Batman movies"

The Republican plan should be to have The Donald resign and have Pence take over.

This is "prevent defense"
No its a route because the weasel Kaine has been going half the debate "Well Trump said this and Trump said that" and Pence outside of a few brief refutations has mostly ignored that and calmly explained how Obama & Hildacunt as SOS has been a disaster and how it needs to be done differently..
Saw about 5 minutes of it, heard that, then turned on Netflix. In that short time I was able to tell Kaine's whole strategy was to just trumpet "he said she saids" relating to Trump and that he wasn't going to bring any meaningful discussion to the debate. Pence looked calm and collected and refuted the nonsense Kaine was spewing. Easy win for Pence...not that this debate was going to matter though.

He'd pull a 180 and declare that Hildabeast is the worst liar in human history, that the USA would not survive a Clinton presidency, and that the SCOTUS would be forever stacked with statist, arrogant donk justices for the rest of our lives.

No, I wouldn't because Pence lost all credibility by associating himself with Donald Trump. What I've learned from this election cycle, unfortunately, is that there are precious few Republicans with integrity. And Pence, by virtue of associating himself with Trump, has demonstrated that he is not among them.

And this is not good. For decades I have looked at the Republican Party as the only chance to slow the damage being done by the Democratic Party. Now I find that the Republican Party will do something like nominate somebody like Donald Trump.

There is now nowhere to turn.

What are you talking about? Pence is true to his evangelical heritage and disagrees with Trump on free trade, the Iraq war, climate change, abortion rights, gay marriage, and entitlement reform. Pence has real conservative credentials -- agree with them or not -- that Trump lacks. Sounds like plenty of integrity to me.

No, but the estate tax only kicks in when estates are worth at least $5,450,000. Estates are not taxed on value below that amount. Because of that only the top 0.2% of estates result in anybody having to pay estate tax.

So when you are eliminating the estate tax, you're definitely only benefitting "the rich" as far as public perception goes.

What's sarcastic about that? It's not like Pence sold his political soul to join Trump on the GOP ticket. If you want to look at a political whore, look no further than your man Tim Kaine, who pirouetted on TPP faster than a ballerina on speed.

I do not personally think there should be an estate tax. What I'm talking about is Democrat opportunities to make political hay. And when they do the class envy thing it works. Donald Trump's tax plan will definitely benefit "the rich" a lot more than it will benefit the "middle class" or anyone else. And estate tax elimination is part of that. The Democrats should be able to effectively demagogue on that.

Not only are there numbers like the thing about the average household in the top 1% benefitting by an average of over $122,400 while benefitting the average "middle class" household benefits by an average of about $500, the Democrats can point out how elimination of the estate tax only benefits a fraction of the top 1 percent but benefits the Trump family personally. And it's pretty much consensus that it'll significantly reduce national revenues. I don't personally mind that. But it presents the opportunity to scream about how his tax plan will cripple the country financially in order to benefit the top 1%. Surely you can see that.

Donald Trump's tax plan is, politically, low hanging fruit for the Democrats. I'll be shocked if I don't see the opportunity exploited between now and election day.

Fuck "critical thinking skills"...everyone with at least a half functioning brain cell knows that anyone is better than that worthless fucking cunt.

You still don't get it. Trump is one person. The TV ads about Trump having his hands on the nuclear codes is silly. It takes TWO people to launch any missiles. Trump, for all his hysterics, isn't going to get anyone to agree on launching missiles against anyone.

Hillary, on the other hand, has repeatedly DEMONSTRATED that she will push for war on every front and press the Soviets (who YOU say are our greatest enemy). She is arming Iran with nuclear weapons, arming everyone in the Middle East, destabilizing Central American governments, eliminating the leaders of sovereign nations, droning anyone who speaks out against the US, and generally running around trying to wave a big dick while daring people to challenge us. All the while, she helped the Russians get more Uranium. And what makes her MORE dangerous than Trump is that she has people that WILL go along with her power grabs and attempts at world domination.

There is a long list of other Hillary transgressions against US interests...but you won't listen anyway.

Your ignorance, and weak willed willingness to give up your prime concerns regarding the US judiciary, abortion, and government overreach are well documented. You are a fraud. Hillary will kill more people simply by pushing for more legislation to make abortion easier.

But hey, let your wife know that Hillary is not a danger to unborn children. Heck, it seems that you now consider an unborn human's right to life as valuable as a dog's. The baby is simply owned by the mother...nothing more than a pet. :thumb:

How does it feel to toss your core values out the window?

Well, it's hard to say. Trump is pretty different from Hillary on foreign policy (and, that's a very good thing).

But, Pence was sounding a lot like Clinton on foreign policy last night. No?
