Cultural appropriation ..... WTF

So, I was in line yesterday at BJs (not for BJs), and this family was in front of me. 1 skinny girl about 7 years old, one skinny, but in shape mid 20s guy, and one very skinny female who looked like she could be between 17 and 26.

They had a PILE of stuff in their cart and about 20 coupons in their hand.

Lo and behold, they had an epiphany that they might not have the money for their items. She looks at her smart phone, a new, nice one, checks her account, and announces that she has less than $60. He did the same thing and came up with less than $40. they start having a conversation about what they need to take out of the cart. The guy had dog tags, so I was about to help them out...but I decided to first see what kind of decisions they made.

They kept the sodas, the Pirate Booty, and all sorts of crap. They put the fresh fruit on the side of the counter (didn't bother taking them back). Then, the guy takes a pack of water from one cart, they had not scanned it, and put it in the bottom of the other cart (the one with their scanned stuff).

I then said, "I don't think you scanned that."

The guy gave me an angry look, so I just looked over to the Service desk and said, "I believe these folks need some help with their items."

Another angry look, and then he put the water back on the non-scanned cart.

The service person came over, and they then took another 10 minutes to sort out their items, counting each item, then removing it if they didn't like the price. I noticed he took out a couple more items from the cart that was past the scanner, and he did not ask the lady to remove those items from his bill. More angry looks. I just kept smiling.

They eventually both paid and left (and left the stuff sitting there that they could not afford).

As I walked out to the parking lot, I saw them leaving in a black Lexus RC coupe.

Fvcktards.

Probably some of kkklean's friends trying to extract some form of reparations.

That's as bad as the people driving tricked out Lexus' and Cadillac's showing up to the Soup Kitchen and/or getting free toys from Toys for Tots.

I'm always correct on this issue, regardless of how uncomfortable it may be for some of the more privileged from birth white folks to admit. Poor straight white men are the last group of people in this country who, by law, are allowed to be discriminated against.

Another funny part in the second sentence of yours I quoted above is that in this day and age of bending every old identity rule: you can now identify as whatever you want, man, woman, gay, etc....

...the one thing they will never allow is for a white man to identify as something that will allow him to tap into this free giveaway system.

I already discussed this with some colleagues. The minute they allow white men to identify as other things, we are all going to become black women and start businesses that deal exclusively in federal contracts.

Now, do we also want to talk about how the colleges and universities themselves have quotas for minority admission and how they guarantee tuition, room, and board out of their own grants?

In all honesty, I think you might have a better argument with this angle.

There are many factors involved with scholarships and grants. There are very few that specifically target "white" students, as compared to other races, but things like geography, religion, national origin, and field of study can skew private scholarships, and sometimes grants, towards whites (And for the record, I say "tough shit"). For example, a scholarship sponsored by Cluck's sailing club, or a Pell Grant for a student in Montanada, is more likely to go to a white student. Whereas, a Pell Grant recipient from Baltimore, Philly, or Chicago will likely go to a black student. But I think you will find that overall grants are fairly balanced to overall student population.

Apparently the student theater group in England, a country with only a small minority population, and an even smaller one in this particular theater group, was being barraged with protests over potentially not being able to cast minorities in the roles for Egyptians and Nubians in the musical. As a result, cancel the musical. Apparently the same theater group was able to pull off "West Side Story" last year with the same paucity of minority actors and there was no outrage. They must have slipped that one past the perpetually-offended ranks of our society.

I think Whites should stay in their own cultural lanes just because their cultural lanes are better. I never have gotten this thing of White people not being proud of their own cultural history. Like it's bad to be from the culture that developed the scientific method, made most of the biggest scientific advancements in human history, had people like Bach and Da vinci as opposed to guys beating on primitive drums and painted or sculpted/carved stuff that looks like something a 2nd grader wouldl do, etc. Makes no sense.

I really don't think average white males are getting screwed. It just feels like it because they are getting moved to an equal playing field. So while they still have they are in the spot they have always been (aside from creating laws to hold others back) women and minorities are moving closer and white males think they are moving backwards.

If anything, if white males think it sucks to be treated a little different, they now know what everyone else felt like for generations.

They still prove is studies that if a white person and black person send the exact same resume but only change the name, the white person is more likely to get an interview. That's the privilege that even poor whites have.

What I've always is said is that it was a level playing field to begin with. There wasn't some great cosmic being that bestowed White Males with the position they were in. It just happened through natural processes. Competition. The cream rose to the top. White Males out-competed other groups.

Now we're in this interesting situation where White Males themselves developed some kind of guilt complex about a century ago and decided they needed to cede their dominance. If they'd never decided to cede dominance, they'd still have it. Well, they kind of do still have it to a certain extent for now. But if it hadn't been for White Males just for some reason deciding to cede dominance we'd still be about in the same place with respect to that issue as we were 200 years ago.

Whites put people on the moon. Whites, for better or worse, discovered nuclear power. Whites developed airplanes. Whites developed the internal combustion issue. Whites developed X Ray technology. Electrical technology. On and on. They also invented most of the stuff people claim Blacks invented during Black history month. Like traffic signals and X Ray machines.

Why on Earth would you not be proud to be White instead of trying to act like something you're not?
