Re: FCS Reject!!!!!!!!
I played D3. I played on a top 25 ranked D3 team. I played with multi-time all conference players. We played other D3 top 25 teams and All Americans. None of them would sniff the field at decent FCS program.dal4018 wrote:Did you have a shot at playing on sundays you should have introduced that guy to the weightroom maybe if you had he would have turned into this guy from a D2 school another weak undersized WR rejected by D1-AA schools http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwiBW6j80kI suprisingly Central Michigan offered the person in the video a D1-A scholarship but rescinded it due to a lack of size&speed they are kicking themselves right now.andy7171 wrote: We were I-AA Independant. And I'm tired of this. There was a kid on our team, weak, undersized, kind of fast played WR. Couldn't even make the travel team. He got sick of it and transferred to D.III Catholic and was all-D3 and a major head liner in the Post's local college sports. Most of my brothers and sisters - in-law went to Catholic U. And were absolutely shocked when I called him a scrubs' scrub.
Bottom line, if you can succeed on the D.3 field, which is really high school football extended, doesn't really translate into D.IA or D.IAA success. ...
There was a kid that transferred from Iowa to the University of Dubuque. He was a highly recruited kid out of high school. Kid from Florida. Real athletic and fast. He couldn't do shit at Iowa. Couldn't even see the field. He wouldn't have seen the field at UNI. He gets on the field for UD and runs circles around everyone. Led the team in total yards per game, touchdowns, etc...
A teammate from my D3 team transferred to Iowa State (ended up married to a cousin of my wife oddly enough). As a freshman he got playing time at the D3 we were at. Had he stayed he would have been a 3 year starter at tight end. In stead he got to Iowa State and was the 4th string long snapper.
D3 may land some guys into the NFL, but it's rare. Guys that go from D3 to NFL were overlooked because of their size. If a kid has "size" he isn't going D3 if he has D1 talent.

Yeah. That doesn't sound like a coach talking about an NFL kid. That's a coach talking about a kid bigger than all the other D3 kids so they don't know how to tackle him solo.. “He’s different because defensive backs don’t know how to take him. He’s big. If you’re thinking of hitting him high, you’d better not think of hitting him high because he’s 6-foot-4 and 214 pounds. He’s got tremendous speed. When he’s running, he takes long strides. Defensive backs don’t know how to take him.”
That doesn't make him an NFL/D1 kid. That makes him the biggest kid ont he field.
At 6'4 210 lbs he get broken in half playing D1 football.
It was hard to find much for highlight tapes but the tapes on him I could find was him going down against a lot of solo arm tackles.
He wasn't missed....trust me.
He's from Illinois. He's right in the recruiting land of Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Western Illinois, Illinois State, Eastern Illinois, Southeast Missouri State, Youngstown State, Drake. Murray State, Butler, Valp, Tenn-Martin, and Austin Peay in the FCS. The FBS land scape has Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Iowa, Iowa State, Missouri, Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, Northwester, Purdue, Ball State, Western Michigan, Western Kentucky.....

Clenzy knows what he's talking about! End this thread. I doubt this is dal's relative. So WTF? Good luck to this kid. But "Most Improved Player of the Year" award at a D3 school says miles before even exploring this topic any more.clenz wrote:The actual quote for those that don't want to search for itdal4018 wrote:Here is what his coach thinks of him http://www.pekintimes.com/news/20160821 ... son-begins

What competitive program has one of those awards? That award should just bump you up closer in the depth chart. It's a players respect award.

Whose fucking job is it to motivate a player other than himself??? If you want it. Get it. If you don't. Play D3. Easy as that.dal4018 wrote:Maybe a little motivation is needed in his case some players need that some don't.Don't forget Tenn St is FCS as well.clenz wrote: The actual quote for those that don't want to search for it

Honest question dal, how did you even find out about this kid? He hasn't done anything on the field that would merit any attention.dal4018 wrote:Of course not.Just stating a point.andy7171 wrote: Because they are millionaires who don't care Are you **** with me?
