Are you fucking kidding me? NAU is the most under-rated 3-4 team in the nation! Unbelievable receiving corps, plucky D, and the Walkup Skydome is where great teams go to die...even if it wasn't at 11,000 feet above sea level.Grizalltheway wrote:This is just that thing where people hype up our opponent in hopes that we'll lose, only to claim that they weren't that good anyway after we smash them.89Hen wrote: And by bigger you mean the margin of victory for the Griz?

Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK EIGHT
There is more at stake in this game for Weber since a loss could hurt their playoff chances, a loss to the Jacks wont necessarily hurt the Grizzlies unless they fold in the end and lose out, (but we all know that wont happen cause they wont lose to Idaho State, Montana State or UNC). Griz could lose to both NAU and EWU and still make the playoffs. Weber has to win AT LEAST 3 of their last 5 games to get into the playoffs, but even at 7-4 Weber can and most likely will get snuffed.
So in the end the Weber / SUU game has MUCH higher stakes which makes it more important aka Big Sky game of the Week.
But don't worry Griz fans, Griz/Eagles will be Big Sky game of the Week next week

Untrue. His reasoning is perfectly sound.89Hen wrote:You're wasting your breath. I went ECB Citadel @ Wofford, but you could go with either of the MVFC games as well. Those are the 3 huge games this weekend, nothing else is close.

Sure, but their conference wins are UC Davis, MSU and PSU. And their last OOC win was 14-7 over Sac State, a team UM just beat 68-7...BDKJMU wrote:A top 10 team in an opinion poll(s). Conference record is fact based- its cut and dry.Vidav wrote:

Weber does not play Montana or EWU so a win over SUU puts them 4-0 in the conference with two very winnable games left (NAU and ISU). Very likely a bid to the playoffs.Grizalltheway wrote:Sure, but their conference wins are UC Davis, MSU and PSU. SUU has ISU, MSU and NAU after this. If they win this week, they very well could end up 7-4 (6-2) which puts them in the playoffs.
NAU is most likely going to be a 5-6 team at best.

Hey, at this point, I'm just trying to make sure people realize that Montana is the better team, despite being behind Weber in the conference standings.89Hen wrote:Weber does not play Montana or EWU so a win over SUU puts them 4-0 in the conference with two very winnable games left (NAU and ISU). At least SUU-Weber is a rivalry game. NAU sans Cookus vs Montana is not GOTW material. Important for the Griz for sure, but not to the rest of the FCSVidav wrote:Perhaps but you use poor logic to justify SUU vs Weber simply because of your dislike for Montana.89Hen wrote:There are nine teams in front of them and not all of them are in the GOTW poll either. Two teams who will probably finish 7-4 or worse with an outside bubble chance vs. a top 10 team on the road vs a despesrate opponent with enough talent to have been picked preseason #1.Cujo wrote:At least SUU-Weber is a rivalry game. I'm actually pretty nervous about this game. Even during our streak over NAU, there were some pretty tight games in the Skydome.kalm wrote:Two teams who will probably finish 7-4 or worse with an outside bubble chance vs. a top 10 team on the road vs a despesrate opponent with enough talent to have been picked preseason #1.Cujo wrote:

Well, they were picked to finish first in the conference in the preseason polls. But they're definitely doing their best Bobcat impression.89Hen wrote:Go fish somewhere else.kalm wrote:preseason #1

I'm not saying SUU-Weber is a power house game. I'm just saying UM-NAU doesn't qualify as a GOTW. It's an important game, but not GOTW.kalm wrote:Two teams who will probably finish 7-4 or worse with an outside bubble chance vs. a top 10 team on the road vs a despesrate opponent with enough talent to have been picked preseason #1.Cujo wrote:
