100+ years my rear.

Those same fans had:

6 NBA parades
3 Stanley Cup wins this decade
and a Super Bowl

most of the country would want to "suffer" like that... :coffee:

A Tigers World Series win makes more of an impact on me than the Pistons Championships, and the Red Wings Stanley Cup wins. Stanley Cup is a close second though.

Super Bowl?

Looks like the longest drought for a current four sport city that's had four sports the entirety of the drought....

Minny/St Paul - 2000 when the Wild came into existence (city drought goes back to 1991)
Phoenix - 2001 Diamondbacks WS
Washington - 2005 when the Expos moved to DC (city drought goes back to 1991)

Minneapolis goes back to 1991 for a title (25 years). A second WS in 1987
NFL title in 1969
NBA title was 1954 - but LA claims that one now
No NHL titles.

There isn't a "big four" metro with a longer drought.

Now, the Minnesota Lynx are about to win their 4th WNBA title since 2011

Yes, the Phillies winning in 2008 helped the mood in Philly a bit. Still, Eagles haven't won the NFL since 1960, the Flyers the NHL since 1974-75, and the Sixers since 1982-83. None are winning a title this year but are at least trending up. :thumb:

The one team that I have no ties to that I really would like to see win a championship is the Maple Leafs. Poor guys haven't won since the last year of the Original Six, plus the NHL HOF is in Toronto and Rush.

See, for me it's worse. I didn't really relish the Phillies last WS win because I was already on my way to being Nats first and I don't give a rats ass about NBA. So for me it's Flyers in 75, Eagles not in my life, Nats not yet... :(

I met an elderly gentleman in Winnipeg, around 1995, that had played for the last Maple Leaf team to win the cup. He was old then.

Twins also take credit for the Washington Senators World Series of 1924, so it's used to long droughts.

Minnesota Pipers won the ABA Championship in 1968.

As far as seasons played to championship ratio, Philly's four teams have to be pretty high on the list.

Phillies were first team in MLB to 10,000 losses.
Eagles no Superbowls.
Sixers last championship during Reagan's first term.
Flyers last championship when the last chopper was pulling away from the Saigon embassy.

Cities like Minneapolis counting 90s and 2000 expansion teams as long suffering is kind of funny.

Let this sink in: Of the last 133 full seasons played by Philadelphia's four teams, they have won 1 championship.

Atlanta last had a World Series Title in 1995. We don't care about hockey so that one doesn't count.

Winning one in 133 seasons does make it a little more special.

I don't see how it's fraud for Cubs fans. Many people only care about one team or one sport. I know if we had a pro hockey team here I wouldn't care if they ever won anything.

Wolves were born in the 80s.

We can count the North Stars too and it doesn't change anything

Vikings: 0 Super Bowls 56th season
Twins: 3 World Series titles in 115 seasons (moved to Minnesota in 1961 - same year Vikings started so 2 titles in 56 years)
Wild: 0 Cups in 16 seasons (*North Stars: 0 titles in 26 seasons *NHL total: 0 titles in 42 seasons)
Wolves: 0 titles in 27 years - 8 playoff appearances, only 1 time out of first round (2003-2004)
*No NBA titles in the city since 1954. Lakers in MPLS from 1947-1960. Had 5 titles

So, all sports with ties to Minneapolis have played 253 seasons. There are 8 total titles - 5 of which happened by a franchise that hasn't been in town since 1960 and 1 of which was 37 years before the team moved too Minneapolis.

Minneapolis/St. Paul is averaging 1 title every 31.6 years. If we take out the 6 that didn't happen in Minnesota/claimed by Los Angeles now it's 2 titles in 191 total seasons.

Or 1 title every 95.5 years. The Wolves aren't going to win a title this year. Chances the Wild win the Cup this year are very slim. Vikings may have a Super Bowl shot? By the time the MLB All Star game hits next year the city will likely be at 194.5 (well on the way to 195) seasons with 2 titles

You're counting seasons when the teams played in other cities? C'mon man.

Phillies have been playing since the 1800s and have less WS than Twins.
Eagles are older (1933) than Vikings with no Superbowls.
And your hockey and basketball teams are both modern era creations.

Philly wins the four sport suckage argument every time. We suck!! :D

Don't forget, Philly had 5 championships with the A's, before they moved to KC in 1954. And the Eagles were 3 times, NFL Champions prior to the Super Bowl. Also 3 NBA championships, 1 with the Warriors before they moved to SF, and 2 with the 76ers.
