I am a man of independent thought, who has a right to "my" opinions, and I will not explain myself to people with an obvious agenda (rightie or leftie). .. thank you.
.
.
APPLES - King was a.man in and out of trouble all the time, according to reports. He was not responsible for the hateful terroristic agenda of the racially motivated (evil) people behind that nonsense that followed the trial. Those mob actions were racially motivated against innocent people caught in the middle ... evil intentions by trouble makers.
.
.ORANGES - Dylan Roof is a mentally disturbed evil murderer. He brings race into it as a motive, so he is a self proclaimed racist. Whether or not he is a racist is secondary in this situation, he is an evil murderer. His crime is no worse regardless of the color of the victims ... senseless murder ... doesn't matter what is added to the charges like racist or terrorist ... murder is murder... evil man.

.APPLES AND ORANGES with some connecting points.

Ah yes, the conventional wisdom: The white ones are disturbed loners. The black ones are super-predators.

Ah yes, the conventional wisdom: The white ones are disturbed loners. The black ones are super-predators.
You read what you want to read, it is obvious that I said the trouble from king did not come from him but from the evil intentions of the racially motivated organizers after his court trial.
.
The trouble with roof is that he is a mentally disturbed murderer, him being a racist is secondary.
.
It doesn't matter what color the victims of murder are, I can't believe people like you can't understand that. Good Grief.
It does not matter at all, totally irrelevant, of absolutely no significance whatsoever, not even worth a second thought. I could not care any more than I do now when I read about a black victim "or" a white victim of murder, I am just sad for the loss.
.
The value of life is not attached to a skin color, except to people with emotional and mental disorders, but you can't fix a person with such little self esteem that they can't get their self worth to be based on more than the pigment of the skin they were born with, which they had absolutely nothing to do with.

Absolutely incredible, people being proud that one or two parents happened to be of a certain skin pigment when actually the parents were just trying to get their rocks off, the child was just the aftermath .. lol

Why do you ignore the facts: Rodney King admitted to be drunk, he is on video leading the police on a high speed chase. Does that mean he deserved to be beaten? No, but that doesn't mean the cops aren't already amped up and ready for whatever this person, a person with a criminal history, may throw their way. You seem to ignore the facts when they relate to black criminals get what's coming to them. I'd have no problem with white cops beating the **** out of someone that just risked their lives and lives of others. You really need to do some independent reading (though, I doubt you will) and stop parroting whatever CNN, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton tell you. There are two sides to the story and you are conveniently ignoring it.

As for Roof, you are completely retarded. Nobody on here has praised him or let him off the hook. The man is a murderer, plain and simple. He killed people because they were black.
Get off MLK jock please.King never admitted to being intoxicated that evening the doctor who examined found NOTHING in his system.Stop lying for once!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KING ADMITTED HE HAD BEEN DRINKING! King didn't testify at the trial b/c he had been drunk to remember anything. Goddamn, you're such a fucking moron. You need to stop lying to yourself and stop believing that every black man that runs a foul of the police are 100% innocent. Your victim/slave mentality is a fucking pox. They didn't find any PCP in his system. Goddamn. Get the facts straight, you lemming.

But in his testimony before the grand jury, Mr. King said he obeyed the officers' commands and denied that he was on PCP, a drug that causes some suspects to become combative. A toxicological expert testified during the state trial that no PCP was found in Mr. King's blood, although traces of alcohol and marijuana were present. Mr. King told Federal grand jurors that he was traveling between 75 and 80 miles an hour on the freeway while being pursued by Highway Patrol officers, and he admitted he "had drunk quite a bit" before the chase.

 I didn't say that. I didn't elude to that. Learn to read and comprehend. The police, after following someone that refused to comply with police orders, has a criminal history, led them on a high speed pursuit and then charged the police (that's on the infamous video, btw). I didn't say he deserved to be beaten. Police have the right to defend themselves when faced with someone that's a known criminal and is refusing commands.

Dal, it's obvious that you don't understand a story or you're just so far up the ass of black culture that anything that happens to a black man is automatically b/c he's black. People, white and black, need to be held accountable for their actions. If you lead the police on a chase and then turn and fight, don't cry when you're hurt. If you drink and drive, don't bitch about getting caught. It's pretty simple.

You can not arrest somebody with an attack? What are you talking about? What aren't you understanding/

Facts:
1) Rodney King got drunk watching a game with 2 friend
2) Rodney then started driving
3) Police tries to pull Rodney over
4) Rodney leads police of a high speed chase
5) Chase ends, Rodney's two friends get out and get on the ground. King resists for a while but then gets on the ground
6) Rodney, allegedly, curses the cop
7) Rodney gets up and starts to charge the police (this is when the video starts)
8) LAPD goes crazy and beats the hell out of him

Maybe I'm not reading this right, but are you justifying what the LAPD did to Rodney King? No one is going to dispute that King was a deplorable (although not Trump deplorable, the other kind) person, no one is going to dispute that King was a criminal, no one is going to dispute that he was right to be arrested. But there's also no doubt that those cops took it way too far. The goal for the officers is to subdue and apprehend the person. They went too far in doing so. Police never really have a justifiable time to "go crazy". Heck, they even took some shots at the two passengers who did get on the ground and complied. Everyone did something wrong in that situation - three dumb guys led the cops on a high speed druken car chase, and then the cops couldn't control themselves when conducting the arrest. None of what happens afterwards happens if either one of the two parties acted better.

Oh god no. The LAPD was wrong. I'm not justifying their brutality. But the story that Rodney was some innocent bystander is just wrong. We saw it with Brown, Martin, etc... These guys die or get hurt and society blames the cops without looking at what LED the cops to react the way they did. Right or wrong aside, nobody holds the victim accountable for their actions. I'm not saying they deserved to die, but there's a reason they had an interaction with the police and most of the time It wasn't simply because the victim was black.

You're not thinking.

1) It doesn't matter how wide the audience was. An attack is an attack is an attack
2) He wasn't complying with Police commands.

And I didn't read the article you linked, because the premise sounds absurd.

Sports ratings and attendance are down all over. There are just more entertainment and TV options available than ever.

I heard NCAAF ratings were actually up this year. We know NASCAR is way down. 8-)
