9 miles from Everett, 31 from Seattle is the middle of nowhere? I used to go to Whidbey Island (US Navy) and remember travelling to Snohomish to meet with friends. You have some interesting definitions of middle of nowhere, fancy houses, etc...

And Bothell has about 35k people. That's one heck of a housing development.

I'm sure the later ones do. The ones like me, born in 1983, have parents that are baby boomers (for the most part). I did grow up with one girl who's father was born in the early 40s.

Interesting stats right there. You hear similar sentiments from some on the right regarding democracy, the security state, and civil rights. Extremes on both sides lead to a loss of liberty.

Yeah, and considering the median income in Vermont is $52K, I don't think the average person who lives and works there year round is in the market for a $600,000 first home, let alone third.

The median price in Washington State is around $300K too
but I'd have to drive over two moutian ranges and 350 miles to FUCKING Spokane to find one

You should go to the Tri Cities. I remember seeing homes there for $115K and thinking a person should by three of them and just build a skybridge in between them. That price as a while ago, but my point was the same as yours. Pretty pricey, even here in Bothell.
