Well, when they went full in with the social policies they borrowed from the Inquisition and when they gave the whacko religious right so much power, they pretty much deserved the spot in the wildnerness where they could still be. Fiscal conservatism with a moderate social stance would resonate with a large number of people. All evidence to the affirmative.
Not so sure about that.

Pence is similar to a Santorum as far as social conservatism goes. And he's going to be a VERY powerful Vice President, imo.

But, last night was pretty fucking humbling... so, I can't really pretend to have any fucking idea what is going to happen. Just going to watch and hope for the best.

IN FL at least, probably thanks to the Cubans, who usually break GOP.

Hopefully both parties go more centrist. That's where the majority of voters are. :coffee:

Ah, the UNI88 theory of governance! You'll always have one party that is relatively more statist than the other.

And I think this year proves that the "duopoly" may be here to stay. If there was ever a year for a rational third party to step forward, centrist or not, this was it. The Libertarians didn't get it done, and the Greens are a joke.

UNI88 is a smart guy!

I think both sides could learn something from the Libertarians. I'd like to see a viable candidate next time around.
