Trump's infrastructure bill

Post by Pwns »

Just playing devil's advocate here. Is there/will there be any difference between Obama's Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Trump's infrastructure bill? Will Republicans complain about putting a trillion or so more dollars on the national credit card when there's a Republican president doing it?

Spending and deficits don't matter when Republicans are in power.

Obama's 2009 ARRA Per wiki:
"The Act included direct spending in infrastructure, education, health, and energy, federal tax incentives, and expansion of unemployment benefits and other social welfare provisions. It also created the President's Economic Recovery Advisory Board."

The underlined was the problem with Obama's. If Trump can make his more specific to actual infrastructure systems (and maybe throw a bone to job training i.e. trade schools) then this would do more good than what we saw the last time.

Also what kalm said.

If this mirrors more closely to what Obama's looked like then yes expect the same results.

But if Trump uses the term "shovel-ready jobs," he should be impeached immediately.

We could do it all for 10% of the military budget and have a whole lot of bubbas at work rebuilding the interstate system.

Trump doesn't have an infrastructure bill. He has no clue about anything. I guess it's possible that he'll be a figurehead and other Republicans will come up with something. We'll see.

All Trump knew is that if he said "I'll fix infrastructure" it'd sound good.

Yeah because Obama knew tons about infrastructure projects and the like when he and Congress passed his bill. :dunce:
