I don't know of any Mormons that I have ever met. Do they announce it upon meeting one?

I assume that if they swear and mention booze in the first few sentences, then they are Catholic.

I thought Mormons at least at one time had a majority interest in Pepsi. But it's a big corporation and me buying from them wasn't exactly "doing business" anyway.Grizalltheway wrote:Again, I think he was asking if it counts because that was the closest thing he could think of.Ibanez wrote:

I heard it back in high school but with coke. I guess it was supposed to be a scandal because they don't drink caffeine. It is untrue about them owning either, of course, but it was a rumor going around for years.Ibanez wrote:Who are these Mormons? Bain Capital?kalm wrote:

This. Although IIRC, according to my Mormon friend, it's not an issue with caffeine, it's with the tea leaves and coffee beans or some such thing.Vidav wrote:I heard it back in high school but with coke. That is true. They can consume soda but not tea or coffee. The common belief among us non-magic underwear folk is usually that they can't consume caffeine, so I left it simple in my previous post. I apologize to my friends and family.kalm wrote:This. 1) Yes. A relative of mine who is Mormon and also happens to be the winningest basketball coach in NC.Chizzang wrote:How many of you have

4) How many of you have done business with a Mormon run company
I'm curious
Because I think we've got some folks here who might be confused
2) Yes. The State Department is chock full of them. They catch the bug on their overseas missions.
3) Yes. Many times. I find them to be politically diverse- the biggest liberal and the biggest conservative I ever met were both Mormon.
4) No, but I bought a car from a Mormon, does that count?
Why the boner for the Mormons? I've found them to be the least assholeyish group out of all the groups that believe in the bearded grandpa in the sky.
Does this have something to do with Romney being considered for SecState?

And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.
And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man-
Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.

I wonder if soup is okay. Something like a tomato soup is not much different than a drink.Ibanez wrote:kalm wrote:

They are wonderful people (in a general sense)
Correction However:
1) They are the lease politically diverse group of white people in America
2) Of the "women are cattle" organizations they are the nicest about it
I have had the good fortune of knowing many Mormon families
Went to college 2 years with Holly and Brooke Johnston - we were best damn friends
Holly went on to become Holly Mendenhall wife of Bronco Mendenhall the BYU football coach
Brooke went on to run a dude ranch and now she sells ranches as some kind of real estate broker
I could write a book about those two girls
and their family and their religion
