Your hat is too tight. Chizz is swinging that poor dumb squat around by the whiskers.

I might have to alert the social workers about the child abuse.

fair enough... I guess
So YOU believe the Gallop polls NOW then is what you're saying right..?

Which has Liberals as 1% of Mormons

I'm in between projects and off for the entire month of December (I got time)
I didn't say that at all (nor did I say I ever had a problem with the Gallup polls - that was someone else). All I did was correctly point out that you were incorrect about the country being 50/50 between liberals and conservatives. That's for recognizing your error.

Btw, if you were counting on your fingers, how long does it take you to get to 6.93?

Does that count?
Oh, you mean that stuff that Jesus drank at The Last Supper?

So if 1% of Mormons identify themselves as Liberal
is that less than 6.93..?

My experience is that mormons are very politically diverse. A good friend who I visited in Swaziland a couple years ago drinks coffee, is tattooed all over, drinks beer and curses like a sailor. She's also a dyed in the wool Democrat. She's also a Mormon, went to BYU too.

I'm not sure why Mormons are so monolithic to you. Are they not like every other religious group that has their strict adherents and also their ne'er do wells?
Statistically speaking they are the most single minded group of white people in America (Statistical Fact)
But yes... there are millions of them and they are spread out globally as they Missionary about

What seems to have everybody on this board up in arms against me is the statistical data
I'm not making up the facts - they exist for all to see - and are not in dispute by Mormons themselves

:geek:

Everybody on here seems to know a bunch of hipster liberal Mormons
of which statistically account for 1.5 % of Mormons

So... Lucky us
Also: This thread entertains me - thank you
OK

But I'll bet you this without looking - these stats you refer to...

When they want to find out what Catholics or Jews think about something, they don't go poll people on the steps of the Vatican City or at the Wailing Wall. They survey groups and then pick the Catholics and the Jews out of the sample.

I GUARANTEE you that when they want to poll Mormons they head right to Utah and a few well known temples.

Regardless, if we want to talk about groups being monolithic, then as conservative as Mormons may be overall, they are also the least imposing religious group I have ever encountered. They have some zany beliefs but I tend not to recognize varying stratas of crazy because it ALL begins with believing in the magic dude in the sky.

Not sure about the polling locations...
But I do mostly agree with you about their "least imposing" status
However here in the west they walk around door-to-door and pitch the doctrine

I've never had a Catholic or Jew knock on my door with a book in their hand pitching the gospel...

As I've said many times - they are mostly harmless
and certainly more a danger to themselves than anyone else
Fundamentalist Mormons are far more aggressive towards other Mormons

One big difference from Christianity is that Jesus's blood does not atone for all your sins, but you can work your way there.

The sample size was from 5819 Mormon adults via a phone interview in 2009. I really have no problems with Mormons being conservative, moderate or liberal.

How did Hilary get the Majority votes in the election..?

If you were to draw a HARD LINE like an election
where you're one or the other it's about 50/50 (see election results)
Uh, you're forgetting about the moderates, as well as the people who don't identify anywhere on the political scale. The country is not 50/50 between conservatives and liberals, it just ain't. :coffee:
Correct. But didn't he first provide a statistic that included moderates? :?

This is part of my long standing point on labels and the center. Defining what's liberal and conservative by where the middle rests based on voting is flawed for a few reasons, one of which is the center moves. It's also how you get Hillary seen as a liberal which she's not. She's a centrist.

Mormons, based on voting, sex, booze, drugs, church, clothing, hairstyles, and things like my Mormon buddies not being allowed to listen to Motley Crue growing up or their funding of Prop 8 in California are vastly conservative as a group.

The fact that Mormon girls like to fuck and there are some cool Mormon dudes that are fun to have a beer with notwithstanding.

It's funny this is still being debated.

This thread is awesome. :notworthy:

By fundraising you mean the guy from the church comes to your house to go over your taxes to make sure you are giving your 10%, right? Just like how it happened to my wife's uncle.

I'm curious
Because I think we've got some folks here who might be confused

All of the above and more.
